Gee Tee,
Agreed that Allen is being overlooked. Better for GT that it stays that way. Plenty of depth at A- and B-back should mean no loss in production from one game to the next or as any of them sit down for a breather. Also agreed that they will beat VT, but I do believe we will drop one we should win because Nesbitt will get dinged eventually and we arent quite as effective without him against a tougher D, probably FSU, maybe UNC. GT should tie for Coastal, but win the tie-breaker over VT.

One more comment. Yes we beat UGA 45-42 and our D gave up alot of points, but our offense put up alot of points on a solid Gawga d squad. So it all evens out. But, we, as Tech fans or nerds, or Senior VP's...whatever you want to call us, have to remember that we need to win a few in a row before we can seriously start rubbing it in their mushy little faces. They have owned us but I'm not quite sure they understand the ramifications or the magnitude of CPJ's coaching ability and how much improved GT has become. Must more disciplined and tougher too.

Who is picking the Atantic Division this year? FSU or NC State? Their star LB broke his leg about 500 yards down the street from where I live and this town (Raleigh) is buzzing about how NCSU will go from worst to first this year. Don't buy it quite yet. O'Brien is a solid coach but I think Maryland and FSU might have something to say. I'm going w/ these picks in this order

Maryland
FSU
NCSU
Clemson or Wake (both are unknowns at this time)
Boston College

Don't like em', pick em' yourself. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and butter in their grits.

As a GT fan, I agree w/ Tony's thought process. It isn't an article that says VT will beat GT. It is an article that says VT will come out on top after all the smoke has cleared. Remember, we have to go to Miami and to FSU and also play a Clemson team w Spiller in the backfield. It will be a very tightly contested race, but VT should win b/c of its schedule. Remember, Butch Davis has already figured out how to beat us. He has a seasoned, veteran, and a studly defense, so they should play us very close. I just don't think they can outscore us w/ the absense of their key playmaker now playing on Sundays.

We'll have payback on our minds for VT when they come into Grant Field and I don't care how good their D is. They better be 6 deep to stop our stable of backs and Nesbitt was recruited as a passing QB. Who is the moron who posted that he is a running QB only?! Not his fault the plays coming into the huddle involved the words "Dwyer or Jones". When he did throw, we dropped a sure TD against LSU and lit up lowly Duke for nearly 200+ yds to equal out the running game. This year will be different.

Why isn't anyone talking about Anthony Allen? This kid could be better than Dwyer before its all said and done. He rused for 2K at Louisville and is a world class runner. Is CPJ keeping this second or even first option close to his chest?

m - Who's Yech's biggest rival? I'd say GT is about 4-5th on UGA's list. Win two in a row and maybe you move up to 4th, maybe. VT wins this division EASILY after losing to Bama. And since when was a 3 point game a trouncing? As others have pointed out 51-7........

The SEC is still the toughest conference. ACC has depth but no superstar teams. VT has established themselves as the team to beat out of the ACC this year but their offense if not that great. FSU has serious problems(scandal) going on. Miami has fallen off the map. GT lost several key pieces on defense. I can't see any team in ACC getting anywhere close to national championship

The race should be between GT and VT for the division. I think GT has the better offense but VT will have the better defense. I think the hard schedule to start the season will hurt GT. You have to knock off the champion to be the champion and until GT does it I have to go with VT. Watch out for NC who could sneak up and win the division. I think the VT and AL game is going to be a nail biter. I saw Miami get killed by tech and have horrible qb play much of the season. I pick NC over them. Duke is going to surprise some people like vandy did but still no depth to truly compete. Don't know anything about VA so won't comment on them
