Wondering...

Not since the revolutionary war huh? 1812 doesn't ring a bell...when the British took the Capital and American forces had to take it back. Or Pearl Harbor, when the Japanese attacked on US soil...

Please do not diminish the sacrifices of our veterans by your ignorance...

Thank all who gave all...

Tony please keep us up to date on Coach "O" and his antics. I can see him funneling beer on the beach, ripping his shirt off and doing shots of tequila all week

I had an uncle on one side who was part of the invasion force at Omaha beach in WW 2 and a couple of uncles who fought with the Montgard Indians against the Viet Cong. My brother is a Lieutenent Colonel here at Fort McPherson and served in the first Iraq war to free Kuwait and got back a year ago from a 2nd tour In Irag. He is US Army and was stationed in or around the big airfield AL Assad near Bahgdad.

I'm very proud of my family's history but also of each and every other man or woman who has served (myself included) in the military and their loved ones back home who support them.

Wondering, you spit on the sacrifice of our American heroes in your comments. Have you no shame.

I deleted the other thousand words I just wrote because this is not the time or place for them. I just want to thank all who ever put on a uniform in service of this great country. I can never repay you, but you have my eternal gratitude.

My uncle died in ww2, I had several friends die in viet nam. One of my son's friends was killed in Iraq. There are no Gators Jackets Vols or others on this day. Americans we are all, and while in a few months we will be talking smack about our teams, let's remember today that there are those that gave all and make it possible for us to talk that smack. GO USA! God bless us all.

....and some think sacrifice is humping the tackling dummies to the practice field. In WWII, my Mom had her name on the side of a WWII fighter. That guy didn't come back. To do her part, she worked in Oak Ridge,TN not knowing what she was really working for except it had something to do with the war effort. When two and two came together, I still to this day don't thik she had regrets. Her friends and family surviving the war were coming home and that's the end of that...
