While CPJ has installed an exciting, innovative, unpredictable offense, which has exceeded my expectations, I think we are all underestimating the talent part of the equation.
Its not just "the system".
Jon Dwyer and Roddy Jones are some seriously good running backs, who would thrive in a pro-style offense, not just our "high-school" triple option.

Plus, Paul Johnson said in his acceptance speech that he hopes that this is his last move. If you don't believe that, then why should we believe CMR and his speech about "Athen being his home" and all that?

Paul Johnson is not arrogant. He is not a politician either. After years and years of success with his system, at every level, is he supposed to wring his hands and say that he hopes it will work now that he is in Atlanta and at The Institute? He is a competitor and a football coach and he will be at Tech for a long time.
The "expert" who said the Tech coaching job was not a destination job is wrong. In the forties, fifties and sixties it was one of the premiere coaching jobs in the country. As long as Tech has DRAD as AD and until Atlanta becomes Detroit, Johnson will be kept happy here and the national networks and cable networks will love coming to ATL to televiseTech football.

Paul Johnson was the offensive coordinator at GSU when they won back to back National Championships in '85 and '86 and head coach when they won back to back in '99 and '00. But yeah, I'm sure he didn't have anything to do with it, everyone knows that Georgia Southern basically recruits itself.

HUH??? Dan Radakovich has not always been the AD at Georgia Tech. Last year when Auburn from the blessed SEC came calling to Johnson, Radakovich gave Johson a nice pay raise. He said he intends to keep Johnson on the sideline in Atlanta for many years to come. Several National Championships have been won at Georgia Tech down thru the years. Dan Radakovich has a commitment to excellence. I'm sorry "HUH" the landscape is different now on the flats. Losing will not be accepted or tolerated. That is why Chan Gailey is offensive coordinator at the NFL's KC Chiefs. Paul Johnson is here for a long time. The Rivalry with "your dawgs" is reborn. Georgia Tech recruiting here in the state signs the largest class in years. You better not count the chickens before they hatch. Destination successfully found for Paul Johnson.

1. The Institue spends the money to keep him here.
2. The AD doesn't make excuses for losing, he has a Paul Johnson vision.
3. The alumni and fans are excited again.
4. The fan base is excited again.
5. Paul Johnson himself has an appreciation for the institution that he represents.
6. Johnson said in a radio inteview that he had many Job offers while at Navy. He said Georgia Tech was the fit for him.
7. Tradition, Excellence, Higher Standards, The right AD, Connections in the state of Georgia, Winning....Just some of the reasons why myself and Furman Bisher believe that the next Bobby Dodd will be here for a long time. Go Jackets!

So Paul Johnson is arrogant with what he's said, but Saint Richt isn't? Didn't the good rev. Richt tell his kids to dance in the endzone and then smirk about it to the media? THAT'S ARROGANT!

Johnson is a good fit for Tech and so is the offense. I know the UGA faithful hate to admit it, but Tech is on to something. The talent difference b/t GT and it's scheduled teams is no greater than the talent difference b/t Navy and it's schedule, so I don't know that will really matter. Beyond that, the 'talent' used in Johnson's scheme is different than a lot of the talent used in other systems, so I think that as long as he is bringing in his style of players, everyone will have a headache on their hands trying to stop that system.

I don't think Otto has been paying attention the past few years. The UGA fans light up these boards and spew idiotic dribble everytime anything Tech related shows up...guys like you pretend that Tech beating you was just a fluke and try to act like your not concerned. Keep telling yourself that it's not a rivalry and soon enough it won't be...but not in the way you're 'preseason #1' fan base wants.
