It will be a quiet holiday weekend on Thrashers front

Just a quick post before the Memorial Day weekend officially begins. I can tell you that nothing will be resolved on the Thrashers ownership front until at least Tuesday.

I know that’s little news, but the deal continues to be worked on and the holiday weekend will slow the process.  I wanted to you have the up-to-date information.

I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday weekend. Remember what we celebrate and who we honor on Monday.

The Blue Crew is consenting to 2 blowies per season ticket sold. They are still in negotiations about how many blowies for mini-packs. Deal should be finalized Tuesday. Go Jets Go!!!!!!

Kevin – the NHL owns the rights to the Jets name. They can give it back if they so choose

I was president of Flames fan club when Tom Cousins (owner) had a meeting that included myself, Jiggs McDonald (announcer) and several businessmen. Cousins told us “If the team could sell 13,700 season tickets by a date certain the team would stay. Before that date there were just over 14,000 season ticket holders and Cousins then told us, “Sorry but the team is moving to Calgary. I didn’t think that many tickets could be sold and the deal was consumated”. He needed the $$$ to finance his real estate and LIED to us and the fans. The owners now have lied and never intended to put a winner on the ice. They should all rot in hell !!!!!

Hi there Atlanta. I am a Winnipeger bash me if you will, but I do feel for you. I was 17 years old when the Jets left and have been heart broken ever since. I am sorry that us up in the Great White North appear to have little tact these days, but many like me grew up with the team and have been waiting and dreaming for years about the NHL coming back. It sucks for you I get that in a very real way, we should have gotten Phoenix back since no one there seems to care. I hope that my city will make a real go of it not only in the honeymoon period but over time. If and again I do say if as nothing is set in stone yet the NHL comes back at least you won’t have to suffer through a year that was inevitably the last and have your heart break over and over every game.

G52, will you please shut up and go away. You have serious mental health issues. Do you not have anything better to do than be on here night and day? Like really man, go out and get some air.

To late for Thrashers to move if you think about it, just think of everything that has to go on in Winnipeg to get ready for season thats only a few months away. Training camp starts in September, they have to get a team name uniforms but before that you have free agency and Atlanta has some free agents also you have a draft coming up plus they have to get a staff in place looks like they won’t keep Dudley or Ramsey also a test ticket drive has to be done to see if Winnipegers will committ to three years of Season Tickets also the NHL needs to consider they have an arena that will hold 15000 and we averaged just over 13000 this season. Just think they are trying to fill up about 1500-2000 more seats not that big of a deal. They need an Arena that will hold atleast 18000 or 19000, also lets say you have 15000 a game that is still average and its not a sell out compared to other arenas. Even if you get 15000 a game and there are another 3-4000 who want to get in well they won’t be able to. That means they lose money. If I were True North I would seriously consider walking away from this because they won’t be able to get good quality players and the end result they will be left out in the cold a financial melt down. If I were them I would have that arena expanded so it could sit more people because its the NHL and not the AHL and right now its not NHL ready, I don’t care what they say.
