Watched the Cannucks play last night. This is going to be another 8-2 blowout loss for the Trash.

Here comes the total letdown by Vancouver, who have all but clinched the President’s Trophy. Time to rest Luongo, give some the pressbox guys some action vs. the Thrashers. I predict a Thrasher victory over what will be the coasting Canucks.

Premature preview – the Islanders game is on. I guess C-viv can’t wait to get this season over either.

Hmm, the Sedins are the top 2 scorers in the league. The year that they were drafted, they went #2 and #3 overall. And who was drafted #1 that year?

Why Vancouver is where they are, and why we are where we are.

AtlFlamesfan- There is no way we could of had them, the stated that w=they had to play on the same team. It is true that we had the first overall pick but we had no assets to get another pick since the franchise had just come into existence. At the time Stephan was the consensus #1 except he had a history of concussions which if waddel was smart he would have stayed away. But the draft that year was really weird very few of the first rounders became significant players.

I believe Atlanta got the 1st overall pick by Brian Burke trading that pick to Waddell on the expressed condition that it NOT BE USED to select either Sedin twin. I honestly believe that Waddell had his sights on Stefan the entire time, unlike his usual bluster about getting Bourret in 2005, at pick # 8, or some 7th rounder that he said other teams were talking about in the 2nd round, or Kari Lehtonen in 2002, when either Nash or Bouwmeester would have been ours, but Waddell got talked out of it, just so he could pick up pick # 30, used to select Jim Slater.

The Sedins took awhile to develop. They didn’t exactly set the world on fire for the first four years, or so, of their careers. Looking back, how would you have felt if Waddell traded the # 1 overall pick for an established NHL center? Say, some 2nd line center??, with 4-5 years left on his deal. I would have been livid, at the time. At 1st overall, you pick someone, generally-speaking.

I do wonder, as a general question for anyone willing to tackle it … just what would the 1st overall pick, back in 1999, been worth, in terms of actual NHL players? Put forth your trade scenarios. I’d love to see them. And I promise not to criticize them. This could be a fun exercise.

Atta boy Schremp! Anyone else like him a lot better at center?
Our micro-thread of hope is still intact!

As I predicted yesterday, tonights match-up will be a preview of the Stanley Cup Finals!
Yes sports fans, Atlanta WILL clinch a playoff spot and will go all the way to the Finals.
Watch the Thrashers thrash Vancouver tonight, remember that Daniel and Henrik will be too busy nursing their new baby to care….

In 40 years at least half were played without hope because of lousy management. Without hope you have to have faith (In the hockey Gods of course). I would like to see hockey survive in Atlanta but I see things are not going too well financially and that, for the owners, is what it’s all about. Good luck, hope you make the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Canucks play an even keel game and won’t be letting up to glide into the playoffs. So there will be no freebee tonight. Vancouver, BC.

Jkerouac: The Wings came in here and we DESTROYED their arse. Most teams are not used to our unconvential, undisiplined play. Not even the coach knows what they are doing 80% of the time. Point is- sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. Even a broke clock is right twice a day.

2 minutes to the start of the Stanley Cup preview match – I can’t wait! Buff has plenty of experience causing havoc for Vancouver like he did last year for the Blackhawks. Expect a big game from Buff tonight.

As you saw, we are not the Wings. It could have been a good game but I think your team was embarassed (no fault of their own) by Bettman’s puppet Refs who once again managed a game rather than mediated.

Sorry Al, an uncalled cross check behind the play doesn’t contribute to a big game by the Buff.

Stay classy, Canucks fans. Nothing like talking trash to a franchise that’s never had competent ownership or management.

God help you if you don’t win it all this year, because then you’ll feel as stupid as you look, if that’s even possible.

Thrashers will not have to put comic ice follies on display much longer. It is obvious they have simply been playing out the string by going through the motions for several weeks now. The latest surrender at Philips Arena was completely expected so not at all surprising. These so called professionals have no pride at home or on the road. Zilch. Not one player should gripe about attendance. My belief is that the Atlanta rink should have been empty on game nights except for those rooting on the opposition. The Thrashers have been an NHL laughingstock all season. Georgia ice hockey fans deserve so much more than these untalented losers. Perhaps they will be doing their giveups in some other city next season. A very pleasant thought indeed. :)

Excuse me porn star,
I believe i was most respectful of your situation in Atlanta which if you reread my comments you should agree. I made issue with management, Bettman, and his biased ref system that tries to create a tie in every game. Now for how I look and the level of my stupidity that you refer to I can only surmise that you must come from folk who are not known for their Southern gentility. Just in case you miss the point go f yourself

Stop Yelling Knights

March 26th, 2011
9:15 am

Well I did at least try out my plan last night but I realized, much like the doomsday device, it does no good unless you tell others about it! But I’m really gonna start in earnest next year. During the anthem, I yell THRASHERS as loud as I can to try and drown out the losers that yell Knights. Lots of Canucks last night. I think the thing that stays with me is before the game a Canadian couple (I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of them made the trip for this game, that’s how excited they are about their season) had stopped to take a picture of some sign in Philips called ‘Nuts of Georgia’ or something and when the woman tried to take another picture, the man yelled ‘LET’S GO!! WE GOT A HOCKEY GAME TO GO TO!!’ And this was at about 6:45. That’s the kind of attitude we need. And pining for a team from 15 years ago is just not cutting it folks.
