* The Thrashers are 4-1-1 in their past six games and are coming off Thursday’s 4-3 shootout win over the Flyers.

* The Sabres are coming off Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to the Hurricanes, the last of a seven-game road trip where they went 4-2-1.

* The Thrashers lead the NHL in overtime/shootout games with 26. They lead the league with 10 overtime wins and 12 overtime/shootout losses.

* Evander Kane has points in four of the past five games, including three straight. He has one goal and four assists.

* Patrice Cormier (upper body), Freddy Meyer (upper body) and Jim Slater (concussion) are out for the Thrashers.

The Sabres are coming off Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to the Hurricanes, was their first game home after a 7 game road trip!!!

Sabres build a ’snowman,’ 8-2, to all but mathematically eliminate the Thrashers. Technically, Atlanta could finish with 92-points. Soon, very soon, the Thrashers possibility for getting 88-89 points will be over. And then, it’s time to “audition” prospects and focus on the June Draft.
