This is shaping up to be a battle to be the team that’s just slightly worse than the other at losing.

UFA’S – Modin, Boulton, Thorburn, Meyer, Stuart. Of those Thor could fetch a draft pick, we aren’t trading Stuart, no idea on Modin’s injury status..he wouldn’t bring much of a return either. Players we could shop that have decent value – Stewart, Oduya, Bergfors, Hainsey (limited no trade), Antropov (limited no trade), Ladd if he can’t be re-signed and you gotta throw the Bogosian rumors in there also. Of those I could see Oduya going to a contender, Bergfors would be valuable though he isn’t in the doghouse anymore. Your guess is as good as mine, I think we move Oduya.

C’mon now. Florida is a team that’s been eliminated, too. For them, this is the 11th season in-a-row. Things could be worse.

Cviv: Instead of these fluff pieces…has anyone challenged Ramsey to give an explanation this losing. What are we doing at practice to improve? What direction are we going? If no one really cares anymore just say so.

Ramsay (on why this team keeps losing):

“Well, we’ve got some really awkward players who do some really awkward things. They are so awkward sometimes. God, they’re awkward. Awfully awkward.”

(Replace “awkward” with an expletive of your choice and you’ll understand what Rammer means when he uses the term “awkward.”)

If you like hockey, it’s time to come down and help fill up the arena. If you are a fence-sitter, maybe this video will motive you:

We need to show potential investors that Atlanta will support hockey with a stable ownership group.

GO THRASHERS! See you this weekend…

Any thoughts on Rissmiller? Thought he did OK in Buffalo. Will he play tonight?

Looks like Rissmiller is the healthy scratch and Modin gets to play.

Look on the bright side. We might draft ahead of Florida? Have you thought of that?

Joe McGrath, you watch. In the postseason presser, they’ll say, “Honestly, our playoff hopes were dashed with the losses of Slater and Enstrom at the most critical moment of the year.” I kid you not. That Press Conference is coming. Every team in the league suffers injuries. At key moments. It’s at those key moments … when someone has to step up … to fill the void. A call-up. A backup goalie. A bottom six forward must emerge to fill a Top Six forward role, etc.

Bygones, for this year. The key now is … finding an ownership that will care for hockey.
