Can we quit talking about the Thrashers losing money? It depresses me.

Atlanta Spirit – a bunch of dam liars. I hate them.

I don’t doubt that the Thrashers lose money. I doubt that they lose it at the level the ownership claims. It’s a shell game. They play it well.
In other news, Bruce Levenson has filed a suit against those bubblegum machines you sometimes find in the front of your local grocery store. In the suit, the affiant writes, “The bubblegum machine dispenser CLEARLY states that there’s a GUARANTEED prize inside every container. Not only was mine empty, but the machine gobbled my quarters for first attempt at obtaining a prize. The manufacturers, therefore, owe me $0.50 for my failed attempt, and another $0.50 for their failure to deliver goods and services as promised, with respect to my empty container. I am also seeking compensatory damages for mental anguish and suffering.” Pause. If only we could sue Bruce Levenson over mental pain and suffering. The jury would find in the whole city’s favor.

Simply put, Thrashers players, their loyal fans, and the community at large deserve better than disingenuous Atlanta Spirit ownership group.

It’s a regulation-time win!! Is that the first time in January?? I guess we win the season series with the Caps?

Thanks for winning in regulation, now focus on destroying Florida in the last two meetings. Let’s at least dominate one team from that state! Meanwhile, where are all the hockey-loving billionaires in this town? Buy this team, keep them in Atlanta, and end the Assclown Spirit Group nightmare!!

Brendan – Dman skippy, they are likely FULL OF BLEEEP!!!
I don’t like basketball, not knockin’, just sayin’. But I just read that Carmelo Anthony may be being pursued by the ASG. YOU NEVER HEAR WHAT THE ASG WANTS FOR THE THRASHERS!!! Absentee landlords if you will.
That said, I’m not a superstar kinda fanboy and prefer solid performing ballanced rosters over paying one or two guys 1/4 of the cap. However I believe that “Melo” thing (if true) is telling of commitment and/or interest on ASG’s behalf as we all know THEY BOUGHT THIS PACKAGE FOR THE HAWKS AND MAYBE PHILIPS NOT THE THRASHERS. Name ONE truly solid acquisition THEY OPENLY STATED INTEREST IN. Name ONE major in their prime kinda acquisition they acquired in free agency or outside of the draft or via trade of one of our top picks, JUST ONE. Again, not asking for one, but it’s telling, very telling. They BY AND LARGE don’t replace anything of equal value when lost, they just let go.

excuse my typos and errors, I suck.

Remember back before ASG bought the Hawks and Thrashers? That was when the Thrashers played before 16,000 – 18,000 per game, and the Hawks played to a half-empty arena. In just a few short years, ASG has “succeeded” in having their baby, the Hawks, play in front of crowds the size of Thrasher crowds. Unfortunately, they “accomplished” this by destroying the fan base of the Thrashers.
