Zach Bogosian will be back in the Thrashers lineup Sunday night against Tampa Bay.
Nik Antropov may not be.
Both players missed Thursday’s game in Boston. Bogosian was rested with several nagging injuries. Antropov was still feeling the effects of crashing into the net last week in Toronto.
Antropov took part in Sunday’s morning skate and reported that he felt better. He traded turns with Tim Stapleton on the line combination with Andrew Ladd and Rich Peverley.
Thrashers coach Craig Ramsay said both would take part in pre-game warm-ups and Stapleton would play if Antropov was unavailable.
Antropov was a game-time decision against St. Louis the day following suffering the injury in Toronto. He played in that game, but was a late scratch Thursday in Boston.
“That was the weird part,” Antropov said. “I played against the Blues after that hit in Toronto and I felt all right. Then the next day it flared up. I skated during the warm-up (Thursday) and let’s say I wasn’t 100 percent. It’s a little better than it was.”
Niclas Bergfors did not take part in the line combinations and will likely be the other forward scratch. With Bogosian back in, Freddy Meyer was out on defense.
In other news:
* Ondrej Pavelec will start in goal against the Lightning.
* Ben Eager will be in the lineup for the second straight game. Here are the line combinations:
Ladd-Peverley-Antropov/Stapleton
Kane-Little-Stewart
Eager-Burmistrov-Modin
Thorburn-Slater-Boulton

John,
I say it is pretty simple. The days of coasting by on offensive talents alone are over in Atlanta under this administration and coaching staff. You must work hard in all facets of the game, or suffer the consequences. Well done Rammer!

This is very odd, the way the team is sitting Bergsfors. Just what the heck is the issue ?
Why won’t they let the fans know, Stapleton is worthless, this kid can score, makes zero sense
and I wonder just what the problem is ??????? Can anyone advise ?

Losing streak is now at three with no end in sight! Another morale loss to keep brainless apologist fans happy and delusional. Another giveup job on home ice. Gave one away which team could not afford to give away. No heart. No pride. No fire. No fight. No hope. Strategy fine Craig Ramsay. Require players who give a damn to make it work. Not these uncaring bums! Saw smiles on faces of losers following debacle. That pi$$ed me off worth than shet defeat! Third place now but cellar not that far away. Offense is gone. Pavs has become human. Worth ethic is shot. Losing streak certain to be a long one. Wonder how cold it is in Hamilton? Damn this crapola!

The Falcons beat Tampa Bay. TWICE! The Thrashers have not defeated them since Harry Truman was president. Where is the pride? G-O-N-E! Just like playoff fantasy. Sigh.

At least we didn’t suffer the 4-point swing. It was a 3-1 split, in favor of Tampa Bay. One point is better than none. And it’s on to the next game. Pavelec kept us in it, when it was still 2-1, Tampa Bay.

The Penguins game will be tough. Atlanta cannot afford to fall out of the playoff field.
