Playing every other day not always easy

Thrashers coach Craig Ramsay was asked if it was easier to play every other day, allowing his team a break in between to work on necessary things during practices.

Here is his response:

“Every other day sounds good until you do it,” Ramsay said. “When you play as many games as that, and you are playing good teams, sometimes you don’t really get as good a practice as you like. You can work on certain things, but basically you are just trying to get them a little skate between games. When you have back-to-backs, although that sounds difficult, they only focus on hockey and then you will have a couple of days when you can have a really good, hard practice. We try to put some battles into our practice and keep us thinking about using our sticks and winning some battles, which is really important to how we play.”

So from a practice standpoint its not necessarily good, but from a playing in rhythm standpoint it seems good. right? I mean we’ve won 5 in a row.

instead of on ice practice – what about some film study, coach?

interesting to know Pieere Lebrun tweeted rick dudleys at the toronto tampa game and he said when he trades for a player he likes to have seen him in person.

lol if only. nobody on the current rosters looks like we’d trade for them so I think hes really just scouting to see if anyone impresses him.

Pavelec robs Kevin Porter!! Point-blank!! Thrashers continue to lead, 1-0, on the goal by Peverywhere!!

Speaking of Toronto, WHAT A COLLAPSE!! The Buds were 7 seconds from a regulation-time win over our division rivals, instead … they lose in overtime, on a goal by Simon Gagne. Marty St. Louis had the tying mark, which came straight on the heels of a timeout.

Leafs GM Brian Burke was NOT amused. You can really see the anger and frustration on his part. But, ya know … when TB plays Toronto, who expects a Leafs win? I expect a Tampa win. So, at least Toronto got a point out of it. But still … they’ve got to close out opponents in the finals 60 seconds of regulation.

Pavs surrendered Kari Lehtonen-like marshmallow as Colorado deadlocked score in third period. Second goal unstoppable by earthly standards as Thrashers slipped behind by a goal. Tying Thrasher tally equally unstoppable. Excellent penalty killing at close of regulation then into overtime ensured at least one point. That extra point was tremendously appreciated. Winning streak now at six games. SIX GAMES. Who would have thunk it? So very proud of fight these guys have displayed over the last dozen or so outings. With only a few real stinkers in bunch. Congratulations fellows. Keep up wonderful work. STENDEK

I wouldn’t be trading anybody right now…keep this juggernaut going. As a Thrashers fan I can say this is the most enjoyable 6 games I have witnessed….

Too bad the Owners will do nothing to advance the cause of the Thrashers in Atlanta. They simply don’t care, and it shows. The gameday experience is depressing. Half of the lights and scoreboards are not lit and the concessions are understocked, understaffed, or closed. And they wonder why we are 29th in the league in attendance….

Go Thrashers.

I’m not there for the scoreboards or the over priced crappy food – I’m there for hockey. Seriously, what will it take to get some of you people excited about this team?!

Forget the owners for once and enjoy what’s happening now

That’s a great win, last night. It was a “character” win, for the Thrashers came from behind to get it. Atlanta could have folded its tent, down 2-1, in the 3rd. They rallied for the game tying goal, then won in OT. This has been just tremendous to witness. Just tremendous.
