Ramsay: Thrashers as close to perfect vs. Red Wings

Prior to Friday’s game against Montreal, Thrashers coach Craig Ramsay reflected on Wednesday’s 5-1 win over Detroit.

“We really played well. It’s as close to 60 minutes as maybe a team can play. We were focused for the vast majority of the game. We had a couple of lulls, which is always going to happen, but I think we fought through them which is the difference from the Florida game where we let it take advantage of us. This time we battled through and everybody paid the price.”

Good to hear the coach say these things. Here’s to hoping for another big win over another stellar team. Go Thrashers!

It is very heartening to see all the players picking up their games.

However, we all know that on some days, a player just doesn’t have a good game. If too many players have one of “those days” on the same day, well then you will probably lose. As long as the effort is there, I will be happy, win or lose…..well, that’s not excatly true but y’all know what I mean.

One more thing: If the Thrashers keep playing well above the level of their payroll, that may help attract a new investor to replace the hated Belkin. (Who keeps hanging around like a broke, lazy brother-in-law)

Now we need to see that kind of effort on a consistent basis. I understand that there are going to be off nights over a long season but we need more Detroit/last Washington game efforts and much fewer Florida/Islanders nights
