Thrashers-Capitals preview

Next for Thrashers

Who: vs. Capitals

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

TV; radio: SPSO; 680

* Surprise, the Thrashers play the Capitals again. It’s the fourth of six meetings of the divisional opponents already this season. The Thrashers are 1-1-1 in the three meeting.

* It will be the Thrashers 20th game, meaning 20 percent of their schedule has been against the Capitals. The teams meet again in two weeks.

* The slumping Thrashers have lost three straight and are 1-5-1 in their past seven games.

* The Capitals have the best record in the NHL at 14-4-1. They have won two straight and eight of nine games.

* The Thrashers have led after the first period five times this season, including Wednesday against the Panthers, but are 1-2-2 in those games.

Hi again Chris. This one:

…The Thrashers have led after the first period five times this season, including Wednesday (at home) against the Panthers, but are (an unacceptable) 1-2-2 in those games…

That one gnaws at my insides far worse than any of the others! Completely unacceptable. I believe Criag Ramsay WANTS to win. Chris Thorburn seems to want to. Others too busy thinking up ways to escape Atlanta! With pockets lined with ill gotten gains I must add. Sigh. :( STENDEK
