Thrashers rookie camp information

Here are the details from the Thrashers on the rookie camp Sept. 13-16:

Looks like Kovalchuckles finally got his money. Great job, Donny. Maybe he would have stayed had you returned his emails. (hint hint)

What happened with the Traverse City tournament this year? It helped to filter prospects pretty well.
Were we not invited?

Chris posted this back in August:

“There is no rookie camp in Traverse City, Michigan this year. The rookies will report to Duluth some time around Sept. 12. A week later, the whole team reports and training camp is underway.”

What’s this about the Thrashers signing Frederik Modin?

According to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Fredrik Modin has signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Thrashers:

http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/hockey/internationellt/nhl/article7728103.ab

Here is the translation via Google:

Modin leaves Kings for the Atlanta Trashers

The veteran will continue in the NHL

Fredrik Modin, 35, replace the NHL club again.

As Sportbladet experience is OS-scoring forward line on one-year contract with the Atlanta Thrashers.

Fredrik Modin started last season in Columbus Blue Jackets, but after the Olympic tournament, he switched over to the Los Angeles Kings.

Now there will be no continuation of the west coast of the great outer forward.

Instead, the games on the East Coast next season Modin.

Under data to Sportbladet Modin is consistent with the Atlanta Thrashers on one-year contract.
“Sweden never an option”

There, he was teammate with, among others Tobias Enstrom, Johnny Oduya and Fredrik Pettersson.

There were also reports that Modin would move back to the top division this season, but it denies rumor Modin.

- Sweden has never been an option, “he told Sportbladet earlier in the week.

Atlanta becomes Modin fifth NHL club.

Solid signing.

Does anyone know if Modin was largely injured the last few years?

Last season he appeared in 24 games for the CBJ and 20 for the Kings, scoring 11 points (5+6). He was moved to LA at the trade deadline. The previous two seasons with CBJ Modin scored 37 points (15+22) in only 73 games. The last full season for Modin was the 06-07, his first in Columbus, where he played in 79 games and scored 20+22 for 42 points.

So, one has to wonder if he has any game left? I suppose Dudley is looking for a Mark Recchi type of rebound from Modin.

The Sage of Bluesland has lost what little credibility he had.

He actually seems to think that retaining Kovalchuk’s services would actually have been good for the Thrashers.
