Well, at least we got a point, and maybe a lesson in playing against a team that plays a grittier, "uglier" style of hockey (or at least did so last night). Props to Boston for playing a solid road game...physical, diligent checking on both ends of the ice, and great with getting sticks in the lane.

Took our boys a long while to acclimate, which was a little disappointing to me. First period was like watching those sumo guys play hockey at intermission. Top line was especially guilty of one of EOB's chief gripes, the cross-ice pass, and the Bruins picked them off left and right.

Team REALLY seemed to defer to Kovy on the PP last night even with the Bs clearly shadowing him...ignored a lot of empty ice in the middle. Then again, seeing Kovy rip the twine on that PP blast, it would be tempting to give it to him as much as possible.

KLS1, I hate to be superstitious, but I'm with you on killing the maroon!

Chris - I really enjoyed your faceoff article. Just one note, you referred to the referees dropping the puck. Actually, the linesmen drop most of the faceoff pucks. The referees drop the pucks only after goals or at the beginning of the period. Thanks for keeping hockey in the AJC.

Great game by the Thrashers even though we lost. A point is good when you come back down 2-0. Pavalec saved us on multiple occasions, big saves stacking the pads, on breakaways, and 2 of the goals he let in were off deflections.

Down 3-0, the Carolina Hurricanes got it to 3-2. Then they trailed, 4-2. They rallied to tie it again, 4-4. With 30 seconds left in regulation, Toronto got up, 5-4. But Erik Cole answered for the 'Canes with 3 seconds left in the game. And now, with shootout goals by Ruutu and Jussi Jokinen, the 'Canes have won a WILD ONE!

Oh well. It's still a point! That's 4-0-1 in the last five, for nine of ten (9/10) possible points.

Nik Antropov is off the schneid. Kovy has a goal and an assist. And Toby Enstrom has two helpers. But Atlanta trails, 3-2, after two periods.
