What a letdown. I think the only reason we even came back on them is they were tired from last night's game. I think Pavelec actually played fine, one softie but geez 2-3 of those goals the forward was wide open with no d-man on him and any guy from my beer league could've scored those goals. Unfair to put that on Pavelec. But the D needs to cover better down low and it couldn't be more obvious. Lathargic 1st period by us gave the Blue Jax enough cushion to win the game.

No excuse for this team to come out so flat like they did.

When you get on your end of the ice---Follow the puck and forget about that guy standing on the other side of the net. He can score soooo much easier when no one is in front of the net to protect the goalie. I won't call any names SLATER. This team looked tired and they had to be tired, but we still go down two goals in the first period. WAKE UP!!!! I think OP played good, but the defense is lettin him down. DADGUM IT PLAY SIXTY MINUTES.

A better start would have yielded a better result. From minutes 31 and beyond ... I actually thought Atlanta may have been the better team. But give CREDIT to Columbus. They played a great "road game." And they got the 2-points, without tossing one back to us.

I have repeatedly said, "There are certain teams we must measure ourselves against. Tampa, Phoenix, Columbus, L.A. Kings, etc." When Columbus finished the 2007 campaign with 73-points, they'd seen enough of GM Doug MacLean. They switched gears. Last year, they made the playoffs at the #7 slot. They got swept out by the Red Wings. But their roster continued to improve. There is every indication that Columbus will be a playoff team again this year. If they do it, they will have done what Atlanta couldn't do in 2008--get back to the playoffs. Neither Columbus nor Atlanta has ever won a playoff game.

It's two years later, which team looks better? Atlanta or Columbus? It's still early, of course. If Columbus' franchise is in better shape, that is, "headed in a better direction," and not say... WHATEVER Forbes Magazine says the 'value' of the teams are, we must ask ourselves "Why?" And then ... look to accountability. Why is Columbus better? If they are better. Did they utilize a better strategy? Did they draft better? Did they trade better? Did Chris Pronger or Scott Niedemayer fall right into their laps? Did they do a better job of luring free agents to their market.

I don't think it's something to just be 'glossed over.' We do and should measure ourselves against teams who were in similar boats two-three years ago.

This team's inability to hit the ice skating hard will drive a man to drink and the strain is more than a man can bear. Pass the bourbon.

Another completely embarrassing heartless debacle at Loseland! Only one team came to play. Too bad it was not the one with chicken on front of uniform! Pavs was impossible to distinguish from Sori Letemin. Soft goals galore! Rivals exhausted but home team looked even more drained. What the Hell did they do before the game? Atlanta hookers too damn much for them? It is unacceptable for any professional team to perform so poorly at home on such a consistant basis! No playoffs for these quitters. Unless NHL will approve all away matchips for these gutless wonders! Extremely nauseated. ++STENDEC++ Know apologists will savor another semi close defeat. I DO NOT!
