Tee, it's extremely unlikely that Dany Heatley would waive his NTC to come to the market that, in his own words, "held too many painful memories" for him. And Heatley wasn't referring to the on ice product. Would Atlanta take him back?? Well, actually, my feeling is "yes, Waddell would love to have Heatley back." Heatley was supposed to be the foundation, and Kovalchuk the roof. I think DW would love to have that tandem back.

Is there any chance that the Thrashers could be interested in bringing Heatly back?

I feel like the Kovy extension is kind of like a kidnapping, the longer it goes the less likely it has a happy ending

I'd say there is also a direct correlation between this actual youth movement and the identity of our Head Coach. Hartley was never really big on utilizing prospects - he preferred the experienced veteran guys. Anderson however has zero problem injecting youth into the roster.

Rawhide, let's make the next blog subject the saga of Manny Malholtra and why this d-bag continues to keep us on ice. Sorry folks, I cannot let this one go. Manny is no Joe Sakic.

Brendan-I think the club has FINALLY realized the problem of signing old guys who are way beyond being able to make a contribution at the NHL level. Better to haev a kid get a shot at a job.

If there are preseasons inj.. inj ... umm ... if there were something unforeseen in the preseason games, Postma could be up in the pressbox, or pressed into service. This year, I'm going to try to pay better attention to the Chicago Wolves. Right now, the Thrashers really, truly are on a plan of prospect development. It's not some 'lip service,' while Waddell inks some fat, mid-30 year old greybeard to a contract that is untradeable, beyond on a 7th round pick. If the Chicago Wolves go deep into the AHL Playoffs, I'll consider it as something noteworthy for the future. Roster spots are being blocked by Steve Rucchin, Tony Hrkac, and Bob Corkum anymore.

I hate to be "that guy", but this has been bugging me all week...does the subject/headline ("Postma Could Start in Chicago.") on this blog annoy anyone else.

All due respect to Mr. Vivlamore, but I don't think anyone expected Postma to be anywhere else this coming season. Now, if it were to read "Postma Could Start in Atlanta" then that would have been a headline worthy of note.
