Hmmm, I’d much rather be able to purchase individual games a la carte, though I’m sure that doesn’t fit in with their revenue model. Might be stuck on this one, but thanks for the info, r10.

On another note, Scott Cullen over at TSN did some research on scoring trends for the top 6 picks who played in the CHL and were among the top 50 scorers (or something along those lines) in order to compare how this year’s projected top picks fared.

Follow the article all the way through and he includes a positive mention of E. Kane, who interestingly compares favorably to Stevie Y. More overkill to get you in the mood for the draft.

If you want high quality access to all the games in the NHL, the NHL GameCenter season package is the way to go. Unfortunately I cannot justify purchasing that package here in Austria since every game starts at 1am local time (can’t do that for enough games to make it worth the cost), so I’m stuck using sites like ustream to find very low quality games.

Go to NHL.com’s website for GameCenter ( http://gamecenter.nhl.com/nhlgc/console.jsp ) and click the top link that says Buy GameCenter Live to see the pricing options. I think they run “early bird specials” sometime in August.

ranallo (or any one else, for that matter), do you watch Thrashers games online? If so, do you remember what the cost is per game? I ask because we’re considering doing away with our cable and just watching what we want online, but want to make sure we still have access to the Thrashers (gluttons for punishment?).

A couple questions that anyone can answer for me:

First, how long is Heatley’s current contract with Ottawa?

Second, what makes anyone think Heatley would want to play here? He wanted to get away from the whole Snyder ordeal, so he requested a trade in the first place. (Even if Waddell traded players, picks, or prospects for Heatley, I could never see him signing here, primarily because of the death of Snyder. Am I missing something?)

Garnett Exelby’s first game when he destroyed Gordy Dwyer with the one punch knock out. That was awesome. Kovy pointing at Crosby and Philips Arena before the first playoff game was awesome as well. Too bad the Thrashers sucked and we got swept.

O, and as for some of the best moments- Kovy’s point,our 1st ever playoff game, the hair pulling incident between Kovy and Mike Comrie,Odgers taking on any and all,the 8-3 win in Boston wayyy back during the “hook and hold’em” days

But,IMHO some of the best recent moments I also would like to add to include Kovy kicking McCabes arse this past season,Little’s hat-trick game vs. the Canes, the 52 or 54 save performance by Kari vs. the Caps, the “lob” pass to Reasoner for the OT game winner vs. his old team,in there barn! Man, I was waking up the whole house on those.
