Good news on injuries

Ilya Kovalchuk, Zach Bogosian and Ron Hainsey are listed as probable for Friday night’s game against the Red Wings. Boris Valabik is questionable; Jim Slater is out.

What did you think about Matt Cooke’s knee-on-knee against Bogosian? I thought it was a dangerous and intentional act, the kind of thing that could threaten a guy’s career. Blows to the head get a lot of attention, and they should, but knee injuries also can be devastating to a player’s ability to continue to earn a living.

nu, you can spin it however you want it. No not every team needs to be “in on it”, only one man, , bettman. All of this is my opinion and the comments you leave wont change that. The fact is, no Sid & that team would be GONE. Even you have to admit that and you did a little in your post.
I’m from Buffalo and I have no idea what your point was with that? Yea, the team was in serious trouble. It’s an embarresment that the league had to take it over (as a sabres fan).

chc4 — I agree, and would up the statement by saying any trade for a top center in the league should be explored. However, I think the majority of teams with a glut of centers would require too much in return from the Thrashers for it to be feasible (top pick, top prospect, current impact roster player).

I think exploration would be nice, but realistically it’s not going to happen, in my opinion. Our best bet would be to approach a Cammalleri or Antropov in free agency, since then the player would be showing a commitment to Atlanta if they signed here under their own free will.

Spud, my point about the Sabres was that if you think there’s some grand conspiracy to shower favor on the Penguins, then the league had absolutely no reason whatsoever to keep a team in Buffalo by comparison. And yet the team is still there. So I guess it’s not all about Crosby.

Alan, I come around here to be better informed. If I happen to be faced with massive ignorance, I feel obliged to present some facts in counterpoint. I’m perfectly happy if I’ve annoyed you back.

I’m not sure why allowing the “locals” and only the locals to say whatever they want and however offensively or idiotically to anyone reading is perfectly acceptable etiquette, but hey, it’s the Internet. (And I’ve SEEN what gets posted here, since Craig’s regime; forgive me if it’s not as enlightening as the Heehaw obscenities yet manages to bother you more.) Free world, freedom of speech; it does go both ways.

I don’t tell you how to behave, though. But you’re right; enjoy your bricks, your vitriol, your bitterness, and your obsession with cliched disliking of certain things, if it really makes you feel better.
Best of luck for the Thrashers next season in your lovely arena; things have to change at some point. It may have been a horrible showing, but they looked pretty darn hilariously good against the Caps the night before.
