Plus Size Fashion

Q- Where can I shop for trendy Plus Size fashion?
Sue- Atlanta GA

One great thing that the fashion retail industry has done is to create more options for many women, including plus-sizes.

There is no reason to pass on trends just because you are  a double-digit size? Many fashion brands have added plus-size pieces to their collections, and there have been many new brands coming out that cater specifically to the voluptuous women.
What can I say? Real women have curves.

I love this Iconic Wrap Dress ($102) by www.Igigi.com. It’s perfect for spring, and it drives the point that plus-size women don’t have to stay away from prints.   If you live in Atlanta, long sleeves are probably best if you work in a too cold office building by day and not for sitting on a patio in Midtown or Buckhead.

Kohls and Kohls.com has a lot of very budget-friendly options, too including Jr. Plus. With plus-size brands like Apt. 9, Chaps, Trimshaper, Daisy Fuentes, Dana Buchman, etc., you can shop for anything—lingerie, dresses, sportswear, and more.

For those who like to shop online, www.OneStopPlus.com is the world’s first and largest plus-size web mall, which carries fashion forward options from many curvy brands in the industry – Avenue, Jessica London, Chadwicks, Woman Within and more. You can also check out Ross – Dress For Less. In the Atlanta area, you can check the following Ross locations for good plus size selections: Camp Creek, Piedmont Road, Howell Mill and North Dekalb.

Target and also has a nice selection of trendy plus size clothing. For online shopping, try Jessica London, Eshakti and Fashion Bug. Every now and then you can find great budget-friendly suggestions at Nordstroms.

Uh, the second model in this article and the 3rd outfit (not on a model) are hardly “plus-sized.” What are they, a size 10??? Puhleeze….

That’s it? There was more energy invested in drafting the headline to this article than into finding options.

There is a cute store in Kirkwood called Curvysta that is affordable and trendy. The owner Jovanna Reyes is a joy. Here is the website http://www.curvystashop.com/Default.asp?Redirected=Y

Plus size at Kohl’s and elsewhere tends to be way too boxy.

The Avenue is great as well as Zaftique.com. Fashion Bug is also a great place to get trendy plus-sized clothes, but as a plus size myself, I don’t get bogged down with trendy. I find classic styles then keep them “trendy” with accessories or accent pieces.

Kudos to the fashion industry for finally realizing that we double digit women have money to spend too. But if you’re going to write an article on plus size clothing options at least use plus sized models. I’m only a size 12 but considered “plus sized” because I’m not in a size zero. it’s so frustrating!!

I think you Plus ladies need to spend more time in the gym before your man starts to drift

I can tell you’re not plus-sized because no large-busted woman would ever recommend a button down shirt for a plus-sized girl!

@Just Sayin – believe it or not, some men actually like a woman with some meat on their bones. I’d like to lose about 30 pounds but my husband doesn’t want me to! He’s the one who’s always buying me rich foods and who tells me not to lose my hips & booty! Gotta love the Spanish men.

I came across this post a little late, but thought I would mention a website that is one of my personal favorites – http://www.1-plus.com ; There are 3 different stores on this site, and all cater specifically to plus size women. The company I work for, LivingPlusSize.com, has them on their site and also includes plus size clothing stores for men, kids and teens.
