Suck it up guys. Spanx, for men, have arrived.

If you are a woman, chances are you have heard of Spanx.
Spanx is the very popular slimming shape-wear that is a celebrity favorite, featured on Oprah and worn by stars such as Gwen Stefani, Jessica Alba, Carrie Underwood and more.

Good news girls…next time you go out with your man, you can both squeeze into your Spanx. You sans VPL (visible panty lines) and your guy free of love handles sporting a better posture.

Spanx for men are now available at Neiman Marcus.  A compression shirt that gives men upper body support and keeps things smooth, especially under dress shirts.  The Spanx undershirts come in three styles — tank ($55), crew-neck ($58) and V-neck ($58) – colors are black or white.

My wife loves spanx. She says it also helps her back and that she enjoys her clothes fitting better. I’m going to give it a try!

$58 for a single undershirt? I think I’ll just skip the double cheeseburger and have a salad instead.

How about diet and exercise and get in shape?

Imagine a female’s disappointment when you take your shirt off.

Jessica, I saw these at Neiman’s and decided to try one after hearing Jeff talk about them.

My thoughts…

I like the fact that they’re machine washable. I have an Armani t-shirt that makes me look fantastic, but it’s dry clean only and I don’t like spending $6 every time I want to wear it.

It was comfortable, but warm. The length was good, although it rolled up at the bottom.

The important part, of course, is how it works. I was wearing a shirt that had been a bit snug, and I needed to stand straight and hold in my stomach to make it fit properly. With this on it was easier.

I’m looking forward to hearing what Jeff thinks of his.

I dated a dude a couple of years ago that wore those UnderArmour compression shirts under everything he wore every day.

This is nothing new.

The same product has been for sale to men under a different brand for at least five years. I bought some a while back. They are ok. I just got tired of sucking it in and started working out.

Instead of spending 58 dollars for an undershirt, how about you get to the gym? You can buy a few year’s worth of undershirts for that amount.

good luck to spanx but that going is to be a tough sell because I can’t see many guys really wanting to drop $60 on an undershirt. seems like they are trying to incorporate what under armor did for athletic wear and translate it to regular clothes. not a bad idea but i know that if any of my friends were caught wearing a spanx undershirt they would get relentless amounts of you know what.

it might play in midtown…not that there’s anything wrong with that.

“you now understand what we women go through to look good”

Wearing a modern-day corset isn’t “looking good”, it’s fraud. You’d be better served shelling out that 60 bucks on 3 months worth of gym memberships; that way you might actually look good in normal clothes.

LOL!

So what……women lie about their shape, breast size, length of eye lashes, hair, nails, height (high heels)……….even PATERNITY!!! LOL! I think it’s about time men were able to deceive women as much as they do us!

Sorry, but men realize that if we don’t want to be fat-asses, rather than trying to *buy* something, we just need to instead get up off the couch and do something about it.

First!

Skeptical at first glance, but could have some benefits. A little pricey for me, but I might try if price drops.

Is the company really so myopic, clueless and out of touch with their target base that they didn’t think to offer Tall sizes?

Many of the men in need of the benefits offered by this new line of shirts are well over 6′2.

In a rotten economy like this, this company is apparently run by uneducated goofballs who should not even be employed.

Idiots.

I’ll wait until a less expensive knock-off comes out. Plus, the founder of Spanx, Sara Blakely, just rubs me the wrong way, so I’m thinking her clothing would, too. She’s rather annoying, plastic, and self-important– everything this brand represents.

I asked about Spanx for Men about 4 years ago. I think its a brilliant idea to compliment those that work out not as an alternative to working out. Everyone wants to look a little firmer but if you are huge its not going to be a real miracle. I looked several years ago and comparable products are all over $100 so I can’t wait to get one. Who could hate Sara Blakely? Don’t be envious of her success, celebrate her for making everyone look better (if they are willing to pay.)

I bought one and returned it to Neiman Marcus already being disappointed. it was too hot, very constricting, and my wife had to help me take it off.

Unless i wear a skin tight dress shirt, there is absolutely no visible difference in my appearance. this is just another marketing gimmick with a very expensive marketing and advertising budget to build buzz. the company should stick to what they know…womens.
