Q- What are some of your favorite shoe trends for Spring?

The wedge always comes back for Spring/Summer, so I never get rid of mine.  Though this season’s version has a lot more attitude: it’s a wedge-slash-boot (or a boot with a wedge). Just take a look at the Margiela pair from Saks— hot with shorts and dresses!!

Another shoe with a lot of attitude is the open-toe ankle boot. It’s amazing how a little detail like the peep-toe can magically transform the ankle boot into something more feminine! 
Check out this Lace Up Open-toe Bootie  from Wet Seal ($32.50). 

Of course platforms are still strong for Spring; they work really well with this seasons floral trends. Pick platforms in the brightest hues, particularly orange-red. If you’re not in the mood for bold color, then go the polar opposite: nude.  Shoes in nudes or neutrals, whether they’re pumps, platforms, or sandals, are strong this season.

In February 2010, Iconix Brands signed pop icon Britney Spears to a second term as spokesperson for its Candie’s brand, which is licensed exclusively to Kohl’s.

The new ads appear in the April 2010 issue of Seventeen Magazine in a four-page insert spread, called “Britney Spears through the lens”, and in an upcoming Teen Vogue magazine as well.

Donning sexy swimwear, gorgeous bra and briefs sets and a well deserved look-at-me attitude, the shoot features three master photographers: Annie Leibovitz – famous for her celebrity portraits, Mark Seliger – recognized for infusing music and fashion in his photography and Terry Richardson – known for his ability to capture the true essence of his subjects.

This cute image is another smart way for Britney to distance herself from her head shaving, I’m having a meltdown, bad girl image.  She looks healthy, sweet and apparently when Brit gets behind a brand it sells.  She is the only celebrity endorser to be asked back for a Kohls …

H & M’s new Garden Collection launches today.  It’s the company’s first fully-sustainable line with over 80 items all under $60!!  The collection includes dresses and separates in floral prints and pastels, made from linen and cotton. Every piece was designed using organic materials, recycled PET bottles, or textile waste.  The floral looks are inspired by chlorophyll-green gardens, btw.

It’s all very girly, very comfortable and very spring!

Sustainable materials:
* Organic cotton is cotton that has been grown without the use of hazardous chemicals.
* Organic linen is linen that has been grown without the use of hazardous chemicals.
* Recycled polyester is polyester made from PET-bottles or textile waste.
* Tencel is silky, renewable material produced with minimal environmental impact.

The collection runs large, so start with smaller sizes when you shop.

I finally had the chance to check out the latest Target designer collaboration with legendary French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier.

For those who don’t know, Gaultier has outfitted Madonna, Marilyn Manson and Kylie Minogue to name a few.  His collections can be found at higher end stores such as Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, etc., priced from $500 – $1500++

His line for Target launched March 7th in more than 250 stores and online.  The collection includes chic tops, skirts, dresses, outerwear and swimwear, including a very hot gold metallic monokini – which you could wear out with a cute skirt after a day at the pool/beach.

One Piece Monokini Swimsuit – Metallic Gold $34.99

Reports say the collection is selling well online but not in stores.  I went to the Sandy Springs location (285 and Roswell Rd.) and there was a lot of inventory in store.
