Who doesn’t love a good bargain? And especially one that you don’t have to go on a very tedious, crazy hunt for.
This is why I love H&M. The Swedish clothing company never fails to serve up the latest in fashion, but at very friendly price points. Most pieces are below $50—and we’re talking real clothing items here (not just fashion accessories): sweaters, jackets, tops, dresses, skirts, etc.
I especially love that they collaborate with some of fashion’s biggest names and produce items designed by these big-ticket names but at H&M prices.
This is one “trend” that other retail brands have taken on. H&M was among the first to do this, starting with no less than Karl Lagerfeld in 2004. Other designers and celebrities followed suit: Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Madonna, Roberto Cavalli, Kylie Minogue, Comme des Garcons, and Matthew Williamson.
In 2009, H&M partnered up with French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel for a ladies lingerie range.
For 2010 H&M and Sonia Rykiel announce a second collaboration for spring 2010, featuring a knitwear collection for women and girls (1.5 to 8 years old). This second collection will launch in 200 H&M stores on February 20, 2010. Styles include frilly dresses, cuffed shorts, and platform shoes – in bright color combinations.

H&M does have great deals and a decent selection of items but I do have to say that as far as quality is concerned, H&M doesnt always fit the bill. I am speaking from a menswear point of view, their button downs and blazers can occasionally be prone to tears, loose buttons, and they dont hold up to well after a couple of washes. However, certain t-shirts and accessories are great to buy from H&M. A scarf, or a slim tie or even a hat will do the trick from H&M. Just thought I would throw my opinion out there.

Love H+M. Esp love the way that collection was presented online. Very nice. Creative. ….LOVED that pink dress at the end. Would be able to wear something like that for a few years, maybe longer. Some of the other pieces though are way too original, this season only. My two cents.
