Q – What are the hot nail polish colors I must have this winter and spring?
Melissa – Roswell GA
A – Don’t let the dreary colors of winter dictate the nail polish colors you’ll wear in this season. In fact, go against it! Neons and bright Crayola colors are not just for summer. I love everything bright and fun—pink, blue, orange, etc. Stock up on shocking pinks, turquoise and yellows , or try Essie Pink Parka.
Want something more “sedate”? Nude-pinks are a classic, and they’re ultra feminine. E.L.F Nude or Fair Pink are just $1!!
If you want something more classic and really season-appropriate, grays and blacks are great too. Cover Girl midnight black (shop online at drugstore.com – buy one, get one 50% off), Opi Russian Navy or Revlon Black Lingerie are great colors.
Zoya Casey is super vampy and a best seller- very hot ladies! But of course, fire engine red is a classic—and it always looks sexy on anybody, especially on toes. Cover Girl, Red Revolution, Zoya Gia Essie Lollipop or Chanel Dragon are spectacular reds.
For a more edgy look, try the matte look. OPI, Orly, Zoya and a few others have matte collections.
Here is the collection from OPI:
The matte colors: Russian Navy, Lincoln Park After Dark, You Don’t Know Jacques, Alpine Snow, La Paz-itively Hot, and Gargantuan Green Grape. (Who comes up with this stuff? Such cute names!!) Most of the colors are available in non matte for traditional fans.
Alice in Wonderland + OPI fans – OPI just released a collection to help promote Tim Burtons movie, due out in March.
The limited edition polishes include:
If you love polish, bookmark this website for Zoya. It’s a great site packed with information about polish, colors and a search feature to locate the perfect color for the season, holiday, trend etc.
The new Zoya spring colors are available for pre-order and include beautiful bright metallics and I hear they don’t streak!
