Today is Cyber Monday – the “official” start to the online shopping season.  Unlike Black Friday we can take advantage of retailer discounts from the comfort of our homes or work, and not stand in line at 3am.  I don’t mind the camaraderie of the 3am shopping excursion but shopping in PJ’s is always fun.   There are many Cyber Monday websites to peruse and much like Black Friday sites, they list sales, discount information etc,(www.cybermonday.com,  www.cybermondaycentral.com).

My husband has a shopping weakness for shoes and as a shoe addict myself I enjoy checking out what’s new in the men’s shoe department.  I recently discovered: Men’s gray sneakers.  The perfect compromise for the guy who doesn’t want to part with the comfort of their regular sneaks but wants something a lot more sleek and stylish.  Wear them everyday, or when you want to add a little funk to a casual outfit.  Gray is hot for fall and just as versatile as black.

Boardroom dressing doesn’t have to be drab. Focus on tailored pieces and don’t shy away from accessories. They will only make you look unprofessional if you begin to resemble the office Christmas tree.
Pick one statement piece for your work wardrobe.  I suggest going for a statement—but not blinding!—neckpiece. Maybe a colorful scarf or wrap is more your style.

Hi Tanya- Sadly the Atlanta stores are not getting any of the Jimmy Choo merchanside.  You will have to plan a trip to CA, NY or a few other select locations.  

If you want to check out a grand opening in Atlanta, H&M is opening a new location in Atlanta at Cumberland Mall on Nov 19th.  Other locations include North Point Mall in Alpharetta, Mall of Georgia in Buford, Town Center Mall in Kennesaw and Atlantic Station near downtown. 

If you make it to the opening of  H&M Cumberland Mall,  the first 100 shoppers in line will receive an Access to Fashion gift pass valued from $10-$100.

Dear Jessicashops: When is the best time to get rid of old clothing or shoes and where can I sell items I don’t want?

It’s a good idea to do a wardrobe audit every one or two years. That doesn’t mean you have to change your wardrobe every time, but just really know what’s inside your closet—and finally throw out or donate that 10 year old jacket.
Of course, fashion trends always come back and you may run the risk of throwing out a piece of clothing that might come back next season.  (Like who would have thought that acid-washed jeans would ever return?!) 

Check for quality and fit. If it’s in good shape, fits you, and doesn’t totally look dated (like jeans with floral appliqués—let’s hope those don’t come back!), then keep it.
