Friday Riffs: Tailgating songs for Sunday
What I really wanted to do this week was cultivate a playlist of game day songs relating to falcons.
That thought started and ended with Billy Falcon’s semi-hit from 1991, “Power Windows.”
Who knew that falcons were in such short lyrical supply?
So instead I asked some friends and Twitter followers for their best tailgating song suggestions and received some familiar – but always good for the adrenaline – responses: Queen’s “We Will Rock You”; AC/DC’s “For Those About To Rock (We Salute You); Beastie Boys, “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party)”; .38 Special’s “Hold on Loosely.”
I decided to stick with Georgia artists for my list (I threw Falcon’s “Power Windows” in there just for the sake of nostalgia), which of course, kicks off with the command of the week.
So rise up, folks, rock the Dome on Sunday and share with us what you plan to blare before the game.

I didn’t say she was wrong to dislike the song, but maybe you didn’t really read my posting. Reading really is fundamental.
I don’t think I should click on a posted video on ajc.com with such horrible language without being alerted to the song’s content. Unlike you obviously, some of us don’t want to hear such filth.
Now, go crank up the volume on your gangster rap and you can hear all the ‘N’ words you are apparently missing. Smooches!

For the Cardinals game, our normally family-friendly section of the blue lot was overtaken by thug style gangster rappers and the most foul and disgusting “music” I have ever heard. We and our tailgaters meet every home game, have a few beers, cook burgers and dogs and hang out with our kids.
It was lots of fun until the foul-mouth gang showed up.
What ever you play, keep it clean. You can listen to that crap at home.

Smokey’s Mom: Apologies that you were offended. I usually do put a language warning in front of songs or videos that might require one (as I did with the OutKast song) and simply forgot to do so with the Big Boi song (which I assume is what you are referring to). It’s been modified.
