Shortly before midnight, Justin Timberlake officially returned to music.
“I can’t wait til I get you on the floor, good-looking
Going out so hot, just like an oven
And I’ll burn myself but just have to touch it
It’s so fly and it’s all mine”
The song will be available for purchase exclusively on iTunes and streaming at new.myspace.com until midnight (then it presumably becomes available at other outlets as well).
Timberlake also plans to drop an album this year. It’s called “The 20/20 Experience,” but no release date has been announced.
Take a listen to “Suit and Tie” here and tell me if you think it was worth the wait.

Took a listen…..The intro is crazy horrible, but the song is old school soul with nice horns to compliment the melody and vocals. The rap bridge is okay and I think melds with the song better than what you perceive. I think it can be a winner if they cut out that weird intro. BTW the link you embeded is dead. Try this one………….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3XwJC_0dVA

Thanks, JMan. That link is now dead, too. Looks like everything was removed from YouTube, so I’ve now linked to his website where the song can be heard.
Thanks!

@RealTalk – you’re nuts. This guy has more talent in his little finger than 99% of the acts out there today. You must be so used to listening to auto-tuned performers that when someone with talent comes along, it’s hard to spot. A real throwback sound to the song – a different direction from the “hip hop” Timbaland sound? We’ll see. Never been a huge fan, but the guy has terrific talent – at least in music.

Intro nearly sinks the whole effort…can’t understand the current “trend” for songs to feature someone else singing. Justin is talented but really have no feeling about this one way or the other.

@Jim Warren — it’s cross-marketing. That way, fans of Jay-Z will search out and possibly buy the song too. Maybe Jay-Z had some involvement in the song as well. This ends up being as much a commercial effort as an artistic expression.

…not crazy about the intro, but the body of the track is smooth and strong. I look forward to his big new year.

Thanks Bob! Guess I am showing my age by not knowing that about cross-marketing of music.
