Sugarland frontwoman Jennifer Nettles gave birth to a son, Magnus Hamilton Miller, on Thursday. It’s the first child for her and husband Justin Miller.

“We are so thankful for all the prayers and support and are excited to take some time together as a new family,” she said in a statement.

Her musical partner, Kristian Bush, said in a recent interview that there was no timeline for when Sugarland would return following Nettles’ foray into motherhood.

“Our work is so dominating that you can’t tiptoe back in, so we’ll take off as long as we need. There’s no pressure,” he said.

Nettles’ last big professional outing was as a judge on the modestly viewed summer TV singing competition, “Duets.” Sugarland performed at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in August.

Nettles, 38, is a native of Douglas, Ga., and spent much of her career in Atlanta. She and Miller married in November 2011.

Congratulations to them both. Not feeling the Magnus but then I don’t have to live with it.

Congratulations to you Jennifer! Getting a gift such as a baby is a wonderful blessing! “I hope through all the pain, and stress of having a new child doesn’t fog the true beauty of delivering one of God’s children” <3 GOOD LUCK! :D … P.S. I’m writing a research report on you, because you’re a great person!

I’ll bet Sugarland is history. She’ll come back as a solo artist. I was never sure why they were featured as a duo, since he never really sang anything other than “yeah, yeah, yeah”. I found him excruciating to watch, although I know he’s a great guitar player.

Jennifer, Congratulations on your child. You are the best at what you do. Your voice makes music worth listening to. Please consider going solo. Jon is right. Christian really adds nothing to the group.

I think Jennifer & Kristian work perfectly together. I always thought they were a couple for the longest time. Duh! Congrats on the baby Jennifer. You’ll be a great Mom!
