Cher’s new song ready-made for the clubs

It’s been a decade since we last had a Cher album to cherish, but she’s back with the disco ball-spinner ”Woman’s World,” a festive call for unity and female empowerment.

Does it really matter that she’s 66? The tactic of releasing a great dance track worked in 1998 with “Believe,” which spawned a massive comeback and led to the three-year supposed farewell tour in 2002. Don’t be surprised to see her back on the road next year, after this album arrives.

Cher is an active Twitter-er and has kept fans informed the past few months about the work in progress, announcing that Lady Gaga and Pink wrote some of the songs.

The last time she charted was last yearon Billboard’s Dance/Club Play Songs with”You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me,” from “Burlesque.”

So what do you think of “Woman’s World”? Is it a hit, or should she leave the club bangers to Lady G?

Cher’s new song is fabulous and her voice today is so powerful and beautiful. I can not wait to hear this song on the radio. Cher has a number 1 hit again. The Dark Lady is back.

Okay, Cher….we get it. You’re strong. But each time you release a song newly insisting how “strong” you are….the more we think something is wrong with you; for you sound desperate to convince the public that you’re “strong” enough. However, I’m sure this cut will be a gay anthem in no time….thusly infuriating Lady Gaga [the other combatant along with Madonna on who can have the most relevant alternate-lifestyle audience; and the righteousness cache that goes along with it].

It’s a fun track, but had hoped that Cher would return to a rock sound — there were reports a year or so ago that she’d spent some time in Nashville working on some rock/country tracks, but I guess she has a better chance at success with radio-friendly dance/pop.

Too all the Madonna fans out there… This album will put MDNA to shame! I hope Lady Gaga’s on this album, Cher and Gaga would make the best 2013 duo! <3
