Chris Brown goes on Twitter tirade, deletes account…again

Another day, another Chris Brown tantrum.

After engaging in a profane Twitter exchange with comedy writer Jenny Johnson late Sunday night, the hot-tempered performer deleted his Twitter profile – again.

He likely isn’t sulking about it too much, considering he was spotted hanging out with Rihanna in Berlin over Thanksgiving (she tweeted a photo of a shirtless Brown sprawled across a bed, giving ammunition to the rumors that they’re back together).

But the cyber-skirmish with Johnson began when she responded to a photo Brown tweeted of himself last week, looking drawn and haggard. “I know! Being a worthless piece of s*** can really age a person,” Johnson responded, which set Brown off on a vulgar tirade (you can read the exchange here, but beware of language).

Brown, recently named the Musical Turkey of 2012 on this very blog, then deactivated his Twitter account after sending a final rambling tweet that signed off with, “catch me in traffic.”

[Update: Brown's fans are now apparently sending  Johnson death threats because, apparently, it's her fault that Brown deleted his Twitter account. Again, beware of language - and some truly nasty sentiments. It also appears as if these two have a Twitter history.]

Don’t know if you consider posting this as backing up your opinion re Musical Turkeys, but really, no need. Brown is the epitome of artist gone megalomaniacal. But why give him the press? Let the TMZ scum do it. You seem to be above this as a journalist, now live it, because this is not really news.

Oh, and the Turkey List? While I give you more leeway there, in the end most of it is just an embarrassment on every level. That the majority of those pop-centric artists pretty much have no clue is not news, and not interesting.

The only thing interesting was the price of admission question. Sorry to be redundant, but the rest of it was just TMZ-type fodder, and you are better than that, Melissa. Even the comments from that topic had a ninth grade education level to them. I’m just glad the people who vote for the RnR HoF are better educated than the guy who criticized you for acknowledging the HoF. He was straight out of third grade.

To Rihanna: If Chris Brown blows up on you again,he’s going to kill you! The guy has an unpredictable personality, and a volcanic temper! Brown doesn’t get angry,he has rage attacks! Chris Brown is very, very dangerous person!

I’ve heard maybe one song from Chris Brown at some point (and I seem to recall thinking he sounded reasonably talented), so don’t mistake me for some delusional fan. But seriously, as far as community service, he has done a fair amount of it, and not just at the day care center, but also at police precincts and fire stations.

Plenty of people have had on far less clothing than Brown on awards shows (or out in public for that matter). And is his act gets people watching the shows, then why should entertainment reporters, of all people complain? Just adds fuel to the industry they are reporting about!

Brown has a point about the Halloween costume. I don’t see where folks who dress themselves and their children up as Satan, demons and ghosts have a moral leg to stand on complaining about him dressing up as a dead terrorist.

Lastly, a Twitter tirade seems a whole lot more benign to me than a real-time tirade replete with flying fists. Let’s be glad that Brown has moved his anger from Rihanna’s face to cyberspace. Seriously, aren’t there better topics for discussion?

And what does this have to do with Atlanta’s music scene?

The Atlanta Music Scene blog, like any music blog, is intended to keep people informed about all aspects of the music and entertainment industry. The American Music Awards and weekly album reviews aren’t necessarily Atlanta-specific, but people in Atlanta watch and listen to them, just like people in Atlanta know of Chris Brown and might be fans (or not).
There is plenty on here that relates specifically to shows or artists with Atlanta connections, but sometimes, if it’s a story that is being talked about in a broader sense, it’s going to be included here as well.
Cheers,
Melissa

Wow. even a farm work horse gets tired from being ridden all the dang time, so what do you suppose a then 20 year old feels like, with the non-stop baiting from people who seem to think that he is not worthy of breathing the same air as them. The same as with Michael Vick. You would think that Vick invented dog fighting and Chris Brown, domestic abuse. If a person shows general contrition, and follows all the rules, serves the time, pays the fines, crosses every T and dots every I, and has shown no sign of committing the same offense again, that person should be left alone. Too many of you are forgiving of the people on you own personal lists, but that is not the way that goes. This supposedly grown woman, trying to gain some kind of attention to herself, obviously does not know how to leave well enough alone, for surely she should know that a cornered animal will eventually strike back at some point if not left alone, and a human is no different. If a 20 year old cannot make a mistake and be forgiven and left alone to live his life, as foolish as he sometimes can be, then there truly is no hope for the rest of society. The person who Chris harmed, has long since forgiven him and has moved on, but, like a dog with a good bone, some of you can’t just let go, and that is sad. Leave this d#%! man alone!

The Twitter incident is just more evidence that Mr. Brown has serious problems. Apparently, he can’t control his rage. Mr. Brown is an extremely talented young man. However, If he doesn’t get some consistent psychological help real soon, it’s probably just a matter of time before he self-destructs (i.e., ruins his career) or “other-destruct” (i.e., beat Rihanna or some other woman beyond repair.)

@ PB; No, the Twitter incident seems to me to be more evidence that some people need to learn how to tend to their own lives and business, and stop harassing others. Without a doubt, I know that if someone felt the need to call me a worthless piece of s***, I can assure you that I would not take that lying down either. It’s like people are going to keep dragging this young man through the mud until they get the result that they are looking for, and then have the pleasure of saying, I told you so.

If somehow they could rescue the popular music formats from the control of the no talent hip hop set . Goodness how I long for the next Gladys or Luther. not gonna happen. These days they’d have to have some rapping hack in the background of all their songs cutting in just to get air play.

Seems like a guy as successful as Chris Brown would want a fresh woman as opposed to one that’s been passed around so much.

@mamaj, look up moral relativism. You might learn something.

If anyone had a friend who acted the way Brown acts, you would think 10 times about that friendship. it’s the big picture, folks, and his is just one thing bleeding into another. The funniest thing is that he doesn’t even have outstanding talent to defray the bee-s. coming to this guy’s defense is defenseless.

@miekal, your take is a lot closer to reality than mamaj…sometimes toilet humor is apropos. Like here.
