So what if Jason Aldean went home trophy-less at the CMA Awards last night?

He’s got two more stadium sellouts to boast about today.

Aldean’s April 13 show at University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium in Athens sold out within 45 minutes (about 15 minutes into the onsale, more than 40,000 tickets had moved) and tix to his second night at Fenway Park in Boston on July 12 were gone in less than an hour.

“I got to open the CMA Awards last night with two of my really good friends, and then I got to wake up this morning with more sold out stadiums…are you kidding me right now?” Aldean said in a statement. “The list of guys in country music who sell out stadiums is pretty short, it’s guys like Chesney and Garth…I’m not supposed to be on that list. It’s a big testament to the hard work my band and crew put in every night out there and to the loyalty and passion of country music fans. It doesn’t get any better than this.”

Aldean’s fifth studio album, “Night Train,” also sold a whopping 409,000 copies its first week in release, one of the biggest openings of the year until Taylor Swift’s “Red” came along last week.

UGA 86, I remember when the school denied Springsteen. They also denied the Rolling Stones, U2 w/ REM, and they forced Neil Young to perform in the Coliseum instead of Sanford in’ ‘82 I believe. It is sad to think that the field and hedges are going to be destroyed by a concert crowd that may not have any respect for the venue.

So we deny Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, U2, and Neil Young…but we let this yahoo in? What is wrong with this picture? Looks like somebody is pulling some strings.
