Jason Aldean admits to inappropriate behavior

Jason Aldean is saving face by admitting to inappropriate behavior in a California bar last week.

The Macon-born country star — married since 2001 to his high school sweetheart and dad to the couple’s two daughters — was snapped getting cozy with a woman identified as former “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr at a bar in Los Angeles. TMZ has photos, if you’re interested.

Instead of lying about his lapse in judgment or shirking the issue, Aldean took the proactive route and posted a message to fans on his Facebook page:

“Hey Guys – I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites.

The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”

Aldean, who has been on a wild ride of success since his “My Kinda Party” broke through in a big way last year, has a new album, “Night Train,” coming Oct. 16.

Do you think this public misstep will affect his standing in the country community?

It’s sad to say but probably not. In today’s times, people make up their own ‘rules’ and throw morality out the window. He was way out of line and I hurt for his wife who must now view these photos and deal with the pain that it will bring her. Should we judge him? No, because that’s not for us to do but I seriously hope that he gets his act together . As for the young woman who was in the pictures with him, shame on you.

@Sue. It’s not up to you to judge Aldean, but you are okay with judging the woman he was groping. I think you need to re-read your own sentence.

@Sue
The irony in your post is just amazing.
You’ll pull a muscle talking out of both sides your mouth like that.

Maybe not in the country community, however, it might in the “Family” community. Sad so many go down this way, too much fame and money.

Both Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr are idiots for doing this in public. That said, she’s hot and here’s a good sample of that — http://placeitonluckydan.com/2012/01/brittany-kerr-goes-to-hollywood/

couldn’t care LESS about his standing in the country community. I just pray that Jessica can forgive him and that their private lives and their marrige will survive this. AND that his girls never see those pictures.THIS is why you shouldn’t DRINK!!!

So Diane, Aldean didn’t know he was married with two kids? He doesn’t look that drunk. The double standard here is appalling. And coming from women.

Buncha darn stone throwers…not one of y’all would have the stones to just own up to it if it were you. Every one of y’all still loves all those Hollywood types that do this kind of crap everyday. If you’re really serious, you’d stop going to movies/buying music and start going to local theatre and local concerts. How much did it cost to get the rose-colored tint on those glass houses of yours? No one’s perfect – especially the first ones to jump up and cry foul.

We have to have SOME societal rules by which to co-exist — one of those rules in the Christian community is the two-as-one commitment (marriage). Break the rule and yes, people have a right to expect a little shame and remorse. What I haven’t seen anywhere is this Brittany Kerr (should that be “Curr,” synonymous with “Mutt?”) statement of shame. Jason’s stepped up, now it’s HER turn. Women can be extremely conniving and seductive to the male ego, and her part in it should not be downplayed. Jason was wrong…Kerr was wrong. Shame on both.

As a woman, I have NEVER understood why other women get upset with the women instead of the man who actually did the cheating. Is she slutty for fooling around with a married man? Yes. However, he is the one who broke his vows to his wife and family and is ultimately responsible. He had the ultimate responsibility to honor his vows, not her. Also, I don’t believe for one moment he was so drunk that he forgot that he was married…..maybe drunk enough to forget that he was in public and might get caught, but not drunk enough to forget about his wife and kids.

Okay, I’m going to say it. He’s really unattractive. And not the first “family man” to go looking for some strange. I’m not condoning this behavior, but I’m also not shocked that an entertainer would get drunk and snog a stranger in a bar.

This is just the one time he got caught. Whenever you get caught it’s always the same story. This is the first time I’ve ever done anything like that. I hope his wife cleans him out.

How noble to admit it when you’re wrong. In a season where lies are not only our default setting, but also glamorous, it is refreshing to see someone admit to being imperfect rather than attempt to explain away his actions on someone else. Wasn’t a fan… until now!

Get real people. Aldeen gets women throwing themselves at him right and let. Should we be surprised he gave in to the temptations?

Brittany Kerr has a part in all of this too.

Women are intoxicated by fame, power, and money. If you are a male with those attributes you can look like Billy Joel or Donald Trump and women will be throwing themselves with at you with moist panties and gapping mouths.

Aldeen has options and he chose to exercise one of them. His mistake was that he got caught.

So many things come to mind when reading about this…most of which really aren’t any of my business. He has to answer to his wife not me or anyone else for that matter. But in my opinion, regardless of how drunk he was, there are two people in this equasion, one who admitted he was drunk and took responsibility for his actions and the other who knew he was a married man, and one in the public eye. If he wasn’t of clear mind enough to make better decisions, then she should have. The right thing for HER to have done is said, you’ve had too much to drink , you don’t want to do this, think of your family. BUT I did read on another site that someone that knows this girl personally has stated this girl will do anything to be famous, so I guess that explains why she took the road that may make her famous and didn’t take the high road.

We have bigger fish to fry than to worry about a country singers mistake. Aren’t we all sinners?

So he is on the road, had a few drinks and got a little lonely. Maybe his wife should be a little more supportive. On the other hand, she should be able to trust him under such circumstances BUT we are all human. We are all sinners.

I agree with the posters who point out the irony in Sue’s comment. Also, I am so fed up with the “other woman” getting the blame here. Yes, she is sleazy, but he is worse. She is not cheating on her spouse and kids.

Women are their own worst enemy. HE is married. SHE is not. HE has two kids at home. SHE does not. Who’s to say she knew he was married?? What If she was drunk too, does she get a pass then too?

Her twitter page is shut down and her fan facebook page filled with VILE comments about her. Why? Isn’t he more to blame?? And I’m absolutely not naive enough to think that the FIRST time he cheats on his wife is in a public bar. Nonsense. It’s clearly just the first time he got caught publicly.

He needs to answer to his wife and not anybody else.

Adultery is considered adultery to both sides that are doing it, even if one side isn’t married so both are wrong so I’d include “almost adultery” the same way. Shame on both of them and that’s an opinion, not a judgment, for those incapable of telling the difference…lol

she was just out to make a name for herself by laying all over this married man – I guess her facebook & twitter pages let her know just what those names are. Hope she’s happy. and NOBODY can tell me she didn’t know he was married. Every article/interview with Jason has mentioned his awesome and beatiful wife and his children. I don’t believe it’s his first time either. They’re both wrong. The only thing I care about is that he gets his butt home and FIXES this hellacious mess with Jessica. Don’t worry about us fans. worry about the woman who has loved you and supported you through all that you have been thru. I wish that Jessica could know that we suport HER and feel for how badly she’s been hurt. I hope she forgives him – but it’s gonna take a long time to trust him if she ever can again…I’d like to smack him flat…

Knew this was bound to happen. Heard other things while living in Nashville. Not a fan of this GA boy, and he is not representing the state very well. May follow in the footsteps of Randy Travis later on. Those on alcohol consistently are on drugs. Alcohol is classified as a drug. Look it up. Makes one do stupid things, so why does one imbibe You don’t have to have it. More stupidity on the part of humans.

If he was a rapper this wouldn’t even make news, Most of the critics on here would have probably done the same thing. He didn’t rape her like Mike Tyson, Kobe Bryant, He didn’t give her a black eye like Kayne West. He hit on her in a bar while he was drinking. Move on. Stop drinking, problem solved.
