I heard a rumor that Bananarama is coming to Atlanta – and it’s true!

The British group behind the ‘80s hits “Cruel Summer,” “Venus,” “I Heard a Rumor” and others, will perform at the Hard Rock Café Atlanta (215 Peachtree St., N.E. ) in honor of Hard Rock’s 13th annual “Pinktober” breast cancer awareness campaign.

Keren Woodward and Sara Dallin, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary as Bananarama (Siobhan Fahey left in 1988), will perform at 9 p.m. Oct. 7. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

All Hard Rock locations are promoting “Pinktober” with Pink drinks, menu items and merchandise. Proceeds from the sale of “Pinktober” products will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The Caron Keating Foundation in the U.K.; 75 percent of the retail price of each pin and 15 percent of the retail price of other products will go directly to the cause.

Honestly, I did not know Atlanta still had a Hard Rock Cafe.

The only time I see the Hard Rock Cafe is during DragonCon when I have to walk by it to get to and from the Westin and the Hyatt. Otherwise, it’s totally off the radar…although they did give our free cookies this year!

They actually have a pretty nice club/bar there next to the restaurant. Nice atmosphere, good sound system, great local and touring talent

This is a HUGE milestone event in may ways… Bananarama are the most successful female group of all-time (40 million records sold, 32 Hot 100 singles on UK’s Pop Chart) and they’ve never ever been to Atlanta! Expect a jukebox of radio, album and video hits in one solid Hi-NRG performance by Banana beauties Sara Dallin & Keren Woodward. At $15, this is the most fun you’ll have since you safety danced at Club Rio in 1984! Don’t miss it.
