Super-producer Brendan O’Brien is planning to pack up his Buckhead mansion.

The 7,347-square foot house, built in 1998, carries a price tag of $2.395 million.

O’Brien, an Atlanta native best known for his work with Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Train and The Black Crowes, among dozens of other artists, bought the house in 2003 for $2 million, according to the Fulton County Assessors website.

In the online listing, some of O’Brien’s Grammy Awards are present atop a piano in a photo of the living room.

If you’ve got some extra scratch around, you might be interested to know that the two-story home, described as a “French Country Estate,” features five bedrooms, five and a half baths, three fireplaces, a private terrace overlooking an in-ground heated pool and an exercise room.

O’Brien most recently produced the superb new record from The Gaslight Anthem and was one of the producers on The Killers’ “Battle Born,” out next week.

Meanwhile, in other producers-with-Atlanta-homes news, TMZ reports that Jermaine Dupri nearly lost his home to foreclosure last week.

The music industry star, who co-produced new “American Idol” judge Mariah Carey’s new single, “Triumphant,” asked the court to block the auction of his home; by the time of the filing Dupri had paid in full the $89,901 he said he owed.

Dupri’s home had been scheduled for auction Sept. 4 after his bank claimed he missed $193,404 in payments on his mortgage.

So much for all that high livin’ JD. Delaying the inevitable, just like Evander. You might need to live in that “big B” soon playa. Silly for even having a mortgage after all those years of making (squandering) all that money. Might not be able to afford filet mignon and lobster anymore. At least he can still afford HUMBLE PIE though. Mmmmm MMMM!!

That is a shame about JD, he has been working since he was 15, why does he have a mortgage???? All the money he has made with Kris Kross, Da Brat, Kandi and Escape, all those hits he wrote for mariah……

First rule in business:
Don’t ever use your own money when you can use someone elses.

First rule for rich people
Don’t own a house or a car. Mortgage and lease – ALWAYS.
Houses with mortgages and leased vehicles are generally judgement proof if they get sued.

Second rule for rich people who have a business:
Put the mortgage and the lease in the name of your company. Further protection against getting sued and better tax advantages.

For you not so smart bloggers, the reason most wealthy (RICH)folk have a mortgage is because they have equity in their home, and because they are able to collect tax right offs from it, because they are paying interest throughout the year….SO IN CLOSING YOU IDIOTS GET SMARTER…
