Atlanta’s A3C hip-hop fest announces first acts

The A3C – largely regarded as the biggest hip-hop festival in the U.S. – has announced its first group of artists.

Tech N9ne, Yelawolf, Hopsin, Gunplay, Oddisee, Chris Webby and Skyzoo are among the several hundred acts expected. A showcase by indie label Funk Volume will feature Hopsin, Dizzy Wright, SwizZz and Atlanta’s Jarren Benton and the Mellow Music Group showcase hosts Oddisee accompanied by a live band, Apollo Brown with a special guest, Diamond District, yU and Slimkat78.

A3C is also committed to finding new acts. Artist submissions will continue to be accepted through Aug. 31 through the ReverbNation and Sonicbids websites, but already-chosen artists include CHAUNDON, Kepstar, Nova The Rebel, SK4MC, Phene, Nike Nando, Felony Fame, Eric Biddines, Skoolie Escobar and Mani Coolin’.

The event runs Oct. 11-13, with check-in at the Masquerade.

Three-day passes for the 2012 fest are on sale now at www.a3cfestival.com for $33 until Aug. 1. A Woodallion ticket package, including a three-day pass and collectible Woodallion, is $45 before June 15. Three-day passes at the door will cost $60.

2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Jam Master Jay , John Edward Hawkins, Big L, Proof, Slim Dunkin , Stretch, Freaky Tah , Fat Pat , Camoflauge , Scott La Rock , Soulja Slim , Mac Dre , Bugz, Yafeu Fula, Magnolia Shorty, Seagram, Anthony J. Vital, M-Bone and many more rappers ALL shot dead…..nope no culture of violence here. Great, a bunch of trap rap auto-tune and gangsta wannabee BS for the kids of Atlanta to get wasted and drive drunk home from, not to mention the talent-less nature of said genre or the quickness at which mommy’s credit card will be swiped for the three day pass into repetitive beats and A-B rhymes schemes at best.
