Angie Stone show canceled at Wolf Creek

angieAngie Stone’s Saturday concert at Wolf Creek Amphitheater has been canceled.

The Fulton County venue says the show will be rescheduled, but no new date has been announced.

Ticket refunds are available at point of purchase. Tickets bought through Ticketmaster online or over the phone should be refunded automatically within in a week of the canceled date.

A spokesperson for the venue did not respond to a query about why the show is being rescheduled, but a recent AJC story indicated ticket sales had been slow.

Wolf Creek recently hosted the successful two-day Funk Fest, though parking was apparently an issue.

No one wants to go to Wolf Creek…The venue is a total joke and a waste of tax payers money!

The real question is WHY would anybody want to go to hear her? Bet you don’t see it rescheduled without her putting up the money to put on the show instead of ticket buyers paying some outrageous price to see a NOBODY.

Angie Stone is NOT a nobody. She’s a talented artist who has a strong following. May not be mainstream like Beyonce’, but far from an unknown. Smarty.

Guys dont fall for the Trolls.. They sit at home in wheelchairs or possibly at work not knowing who’s screwing their spouse. The folks who listen to Angie Stone truly adore her music. If you dont know who she is, then you have all right to go post in the David Duke blog..

Saw her with Chris Tucker a few years ago. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. She was unprepared and her and CT tried to do a duet together. So was not happening. I wish her well, but she can improve on her live performance. Wonder if it was cancelled due to ticket sales.

The Wolf Creek venue is fine. God forbid the people of South Fulton have a venue to go hear live music. Does everything have to go up in Alpharetta? I live in Buckhead and even I think going up to Alpharetta is too far to go for a show.

Wolf Creek is a wonderful state of the art facility. I was there for the Funk Festival. This is a new venue and puts Chastain to shame. All the negative comments are probably from people who have never bothered to visit Wolf Creek.

Deb & Dan, Obviously you both have been to Wolf Creek. It is a newer, more initimate, easily accessible venue for enjoying live entertainment. I have gone to Chastain for years; parking & traffic are issues there too. The Alpharetta venue is too far, though very nice. For those of you who don’t know Angie Stone – you must not be fans of real music, true vocal talent, nor neo-soul. Angie is all that. She is a remarkable talent. My friends and I purchased tickets – 8 of us. Very disappointed that the show was cancelled. Ticket prices were very affordable.

dan: Are you serious? You have Chastain, Lakewood, Phillips, The Dome, The Roxy, The Tabernacle, the Variety Playhouse, The Masquerade. Atlanta Civic Center, the Fox, Center Stage, etc. And that’s just the midsize venues and up. Heck, even the Cobb Energy Centre is ITP. Oh and aside from music venues, lets not forget Turner Field. AMS is on the southside as well. Look at a map sometime, the northern burbs OTP are HUGE. Check the population distribution as well. There are a whole lot more people up here than there are ITP combined with the southern burbs. All there is up here is Verizon and the Gwinnett Arena. That’s it. That’s all. So quit your whining and moaning.

Personally, I don’t think the county should be in the entertainment business. I’m also not impressed with the lack of sun/rain protection over the reserved seating or omission of video screens. Considering the traffic is worse, you have to pay to park and the ticket prices have been just as much as any other venue, I don’t see WC making it the way it’s currently being ran. I mean this was only the second scheduled show of the season and it’s been cancelled. That speaks volumes.

I’m sorry to hear that this Saturday’s show has been cancelled. I was going to purchase tickets this Friday, but unfortunately read an article about the show being cancelled. Honestly, I think Wolf Creek is a wonderful facility, in South Fulton County. I believe it gives the residents an opportunity to enjoy quality programming and entertainment, without having to leave our own neighborhood. I look forward to seeing more events coming to this facility.

I am not a huge fan, but she has been around, she started as a rapper with the group Sequence, in the 80’s, they were the famale version of the Sugar Hill Gang, they had a hit with “Funk you right on up” She was known as Angie B back then.

Angie Stone is a great talented artist, but truthfully I don’t think she can hold a concert by herself. There should be others along with her to sell more tickets. Nobody really bought tickets. Wolf Creek is a lovely facility with ample parking, perfect for people South of Atlanta.
