Music Midtown to return in the fall

Music Midtown will return this fall, this time for a two-day engagement.

The Live Nation-produced event, which was resurrected last year for the first time since 2006, will take place Sept. 21-22 at Piedmont Park.

Last year’s show – also at the park – featured Coldplay and The Black Keys, as well as alt-rock acts Young the Giant and Manchester Orchestra.

The all-day event drew a crowd of about 40,000.

Who are you hoping to see at this year’s show?

At least one african american artist since metro atlanta is > 50% african american. in addition, v103 is located not from piedmont. I am sure they would not mind sponsoring an artist.

NAACP – Why bring race into it? Simply state the artist(s) you would like to hear. Thanks.

Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers, Tinsley Ellis, Delta Moon, Little Feat, North Mississippi Allstars, Trombone Shorty, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Willie Nelson, Eric Kresno and Chapter Two, Mothers Finest. Rock, Funk and Jazz, this line up would bring the suburbanites back to down town.

In the past, most of the big stations in town have had their own stages. Is that not how it is done still?

Kings of Leon, Train, Matt and Kim, Flaming Lips, Collective Soul, Metric, Black Keys
Don’t live in ATL so I’m not sure if any of these have been in town recently. But I’d gladly drive in from Durham to do Music Midtown again.

last years lineup sucked. This is not the music midtown of the 90’s and into the 2000’s. Garbage acts now. For that matter, most current music is garbage. Bring some classic acts like they used to have at music midtown: willie nelson, def leppard, kid rock, black crows, etc, etc.
