Easily the worst summer Chastain line-up I can remember. Not one “must see” show, and there are usually at least three or four (Sting’s “no cooler” policy prevents him from that status for me).

Whats left of the Temptations and Four Tops should be nice along with Seal and Joe Cocker. The rest of the acts should be playing county fairs..Ok,maybe Charlie Wilson too.

What happened to the usual, awesome summer lineup at Chastain? I hope the ticket/food/beverage prices also reflect the inability to provide a major artist.

BRANDI CARLILE IS THE BEST OF THIS LINEUP…AND HER BAND IS AWESOME…BUT THIS IS A VERY WEAK LINEUP OVERALL.

I WOULD EXPECT TO PAY $20 FOR ORCHESTRA SEATS FROM THE SCALPERS OUTSIDE THE VENUE. THERE IS NO WAY THEY SELL MORE THAN 3250 SEASON TICKETS WITH THESE BANDS.

This is only a partial lineup…. Sarah McLachlan on July 3rd, Sting will be there in June.

It would be nice to have some *ahem* newer/current acts thrown in there, though.

To all you line-up haters…give a local band a shot! Come hear Not Quite Devils for half the cost and double the excitement! Love ya !

Most of these acts now should be playing at County Fair’s not Chastain. The only 3 good shows
are the Sting, Beach Boys and Steve Winwood w/ Michael Franti. BUT that’s the other series.
I will give Dianna Krall and Anita Baker a pass they are VERY talented but the rest need again to
stick to County Fair’s. Chastain is such a great venue let’s mix it up some.

This is what happens to venue lineups when the local homeowners complain about the noise. They start fining the acts for playing too loud or too long. Then the agents/promoters start looking to other venues for all their clients, and this is what we’re left with. You buy a house one block from Chastain and then call and complain that the bands are too loud, really? What did you think the amphitheater was for, puppet shows?

The promoters know….it doesn’t matter who you get to play Chastain. The people that go to Chastain don’t go to see, they go to BE seen. That’s why most respectable musicians won’t play there. Chastain has been broken for years. And until you get the crowds to STFU I think it’s beyond repair. My last visit there, the crowd was so obnoxious, I’m in full out boycott mode. Give me the VP or Eddies any day!
