Joe Jonas & Jay Sean Charm The Crowd At The Tabernacle Monday Night

Pop star Joe Jonas performed for a modest yet loud crowd of screaming young girls Monday night at the Tabernacle. Jay Sean and JoJo were the openers.
Joseph Adam “Joe” Jonas was born on August 15, 1989 in Casa Grande, Arizona and is a musician, actor, and dancer. He is a member of the Jonas Brothers, a pop-rock band made up of him and his two brothers, Nick and Kevin; Joe shares the lead singer role with Nick. He starred as Joseph Lucas on the Disney Channel original series Jonas.

Taylor Swift Sells Out 2 Nights At Philips Arena

Country-pop star Taylor Swift performed Saturday evening on the first of two sold out nights at Philips Arena on her Speak Now World tour. This was a make-up from a show previously scheduled on July 9. Needtobreathe and Danny Gokey were the openers.
Twenty-one year old Taylor Alison Swift was born in  Wyomissing, Pennsylvania on December 13, 1989; she is a country pop singer-songwriter, musician and actress. In 2006, she released her debut single “Tim McGraw”, then her self-titled debut album, which was subsequently certified multi-platinum. In November 2008, Swift released her second album, Fearless, and the recording earned her four Grammy Awards, including the Album of the Year, at the 52nd Grammy Awards. Fearless and Taylor Swift finished 2008 at number-three and number-six respectively, with sales of 2.1 and 1.5 million. Fearless topped the Billboard 200 for 11 non-consecutive weeks. Swift was named Artist of the Year by Billboard Magazine in 2009. She released her third …

BET Hip Hop Awards: Booze sponsors’ ties run deep

Hip-hop and booze is as perfect a match as pork chops and gravy.

It’s no wonder, then, that as I perused the Atlanta scene Friday night checking things out before the BET Hip Hop Awards’ taping Saturday at the Atlanta Civic Center, the one constant was sponsors of alcoholic beverages everywhere.

Take Vanquish Lounge (the former Velvet Room) for instance on Peachtree. Interscope Geffen A&M Records teamed up with Remy Martin to throw a lavish shindig. So So Def artist Dondria and Atlanta “Housewives” Phaedra Parks swung by to look pretty and be seen, but the star of this show was, well, the booze.

Hundreds of Atlanta’s glitterati mixed and mingled with hip-hop, naturally, filling the background.

Interscope manager Marlon Singleton, who is responsible for such artists as Dr. Dre, Eminem and Black Eyed Peas, pumped up the whole hip-hop genre, but I told Singleton that my tastes leaned more toward old-school funk and that if he wanted me to flex my swag and turn …
