Taylor Swift postpones Philips shows
Taylor Swift has postponed her weekend shows at Philips Arena due to illness. The July 9-10 dates have been rescheduled for Oct. 1-2.
The young country superstar is suffering from bronchitis and was advised by her doctor not to perform this week.
Last weekend, Swift was forced to cancel shows for the first time in her career. She’s also nixed a July 8 show in Charlotte.
Tickets for the July 9 show will be valid for Oct. 1 and July 10 tickets for Oct. 2. No other action is required other than presenting the original ticket on the new date.
In a statement, the singer said, “It breaks my heart to miss out on this weekend’s shows with my friends in Charlotte and Atlanta. I would never cancel if I thought I was physically able to perform these shows. I am so sorry to the fans, but I look forward to seeing you when we come back through your towns, which we will do.”

I was bummed to hear this news. I’ve bought tickets for my niece and god daughter, and the concert is a surprise for them. I’ve held this secret for so long, and was ready to let the cat out of the bag this weekend. Oh well….I will have to wait til October to do that. I will still have 2 VERY excited girls. Get better Taylor!!!!

Everytime I get tickets to a concert it gets cancelled. Me and my two best friends are heartbroken, but Taylor Swift is in our prayers! Get better, love!

Really sad about the concert. This was going to be a surprise birthday present for my granddaughter. We will still be able to go in October but her birthday is on July 10 and this was going to be our best surprise ever!! Hope you get better soon, Taylor!!

Ka-Ching, I agree, now about 100,000 people need to replan, in our case re-pay for a non refundable ticket. Of course there is concern for performers health, but maybe if they didn’t overbook and overwork singers on tours, they wouldn’t have this problem. May not have happened to her before, but sure seems to happen a lot industry wise. I broke my jaw right after school got out, ruining our family vacation plans and this was my 2 girls one bright spot in a very sad summer. And with the medical bills, we stretched it to give this to our kids, all for nothing. Now we have 2 crying kids and a hotel room in Atlanta that will go empty! Very disappointed!

Gotta love a completely revolving idiot like initial boy, I mean “AJ” (does that stand for asshat junior?). Taylor Swift sold out, if not in minutes, then in hours. I was going to get my daughter tickets. I missed the start time and it was WAY too late when I got online. Hell, even my scalper doesn’t have tickets left and he has tickets for EVERYTHING.

Chaleis: You paid for the room girl. GO. There are fun things to do in Atlanta. Heck, I’ll buy your tickets to the concert to help offset the cost of alternative activities. Stay at the motel and go to a Museum. Or Stone Mountain……….. It’s not like you made reservations to Podunk.

At least she gave a few days notice and did not wait until a few hours before the show was scheduled to start before canceling like Chelsea Handler! Plus she sings live unlike Britney Spears so I can imagine having back-to-back dates would put a strain on her vocal cords. She should do what Mariah does, space the Tour dates out to 3-4 days apart and rest her voice. It will cost more money but will benefit her health.

@Chaleis – I sympathize for your situation, but concerts can and do get rescheduled on short notice sometimes. You chose to purchase nonrefundable hotel rooms knowing that risk. Best bet is see if the hotel will let you change dates on the rooms, if not then remember there’s still plenty of neat stuff to do in Atlanta.
