Ludacris to play Turner Field after Braves game

buzzludacris0911.jpgLudacris will get his game on May 14 for a free concert at Turner Field after the 1 p.m. Atlanta Braves/Philadelphia Phillies game.

The Atlanta-based rapper/actor is performing during Civil Rights Game Week, a four-day series of events organized by Major League Baseball to pay tribute to those who fought for equal rights.

“I’m a fan of baseball, and I am honored to be a part of MLB’s family and tradition of being a pioneering organization for civil rights, social justice and equity,” Luda’ said in a statement. “I have studied the strides made in baseball and in sports, and the impact they have had on social issues affecting race and race relations in America. The Civil Rights Game Week is a celebration of those achievements and a reminder of our ongoing responsibility to continue levelingthe playing field for all.”

To purchase game tickets, visit www.MLB.com/civilrightsgame.

Oh No, Get over it!!!!!! Violence doesn’t follow every rapper. That’s like saying every white person is a Klan’s men, every Black is a robber, and every Mexican is an illegal…… Educate yourself on attendance for MLB and you’ll see that more whites attend these games more than any other race. Who in the world do you think support hip hop?????????????

another reason not to go to Braves games. This guy’s so-called “music” is the antithesis of what the civil rights movement stood for. Hip hop is garbage.

Teg, have you every listened to country or heavy metal…. that $hit is worse than garbage. I am an old school r&b man, myself. Rap is unique and a million percent better than country. Two facts, most rapper can actually sing and most are either college graduates or attended college. Rapper are smart and telented people. Can’t say that about the country pumpkins…

Actual lyrics to a real Ludacris song:

Move b@#tch, get out the way

Get out the way b@#tch, get out the way

Move b@#tch, get out the way

Get out the way bitch, get out the way

OH NO! The fight’s out

I’ma ’bout to punch yo…lights out

Get the F@#CK back, guard ya grill

There’s somethin’ wrong, we can’t stay still

I’ve been drankin’ and bustin’ two

and I been thankin’ of bustin’ you

Upside ya motherf@#ckin’ forehead

And if your friends jump in, “Ohhh gurrlll”, they’ll be mo’ dead

Causin’ confusion, Disturbin Tha Peace

It’s not an illusion, we runnin the streets

So bye-bye to all you groupies and golddiggers

Is there a bumper on your ass? NO N@#GGA!

I’m doin’ a hundred on the highway

So if you do the speed limit, get the F@#CK outta my way

I’m D.U.I., hardly ever caught sober

and you about to get ran the F@#CK over

Todd – Dacula:

It’s “Ted,” not “Teg.”

It’s “have you ever listened,” not “have you every listened.”

A “million percent” is an oxymoron.

It’s “most rappers can actually sing,” not “most rapper can actually sing.”

It’s “rappers are smart” not “rapper are smart.”

It’s “smart and talented people,” not “smart and telented people.”

The common phrase is “country bumpkins,” not “country pumpkins.”

Seven mistakes in six sentences would have earned you a failing grade, had you ever attended college yourself.

Actually, P Rose, a “million percent” is not an oxymoron. Since big numbers are tough for you, think about how 200% of 4 is 8. A percentage is just a way of describing numbers as a fraction of 100.

Rap singers have terrible voices and are all so racist. Condemn racism and stop Ludacris from appearing at Turner Field. Don’t need or want thugs to perform. Keep the game wholesome. Boycott the Braves and let the thugs buy tickets. We’ll see how long it lasts. Stop the loud thug cars who abuse the rights of others by playing thug rap music as they drive down the road. Imprison the thugs or send them back to the jungle. Nobody will miss any of them.

Youre and idiot. What has your sorry butt done to contribute to poverty, crimes against children, or the fight against hunger. Exactly my point, Ludacris has never been involved in anything nonsense or useless. Google him before you run your mouth. Everybody does need or want to know how ignorant you are, so keep your broken words to yourself…

For the haters: Headlines- “Ludacris donates private jet for Haiti relief”… “Ludacris donates Coats to Charity”… don’t forget The Ludacris Foundation. Wow, what a non-contributing thug. But just focus on the fact that you don’t like his music, since you all love to hate.

Luda is a good guy. Like his old music more..but people need to stop all the racism..props to braves owners doing this..Its about time if you ask me..what is the majority at the braves game…where is turner field situated?..I don’t mind having lil flavor to TF..it definitely needs it with all these stuffy white people sitting down the entire game…casual clap after each inning..SECTION 135 is where its at!

PREJUDICE IS a prejudgment, an assumption made about someone or something before having adequate knowledge to be able to do so with guaranteed accuracy. The word prejudice is most commonly used to refer to a preconceived judgment toward a people or a person because of race, social class, gender, ethnicity, homelessness, age, disability, obesity, religion, sexual orientation or other personal characteristics. It also means beliefs without knowledge of the facts and may include “any unreasonable attitude that is unusually resistant to rational influence. Does anyone fit into this catagory?

I saw him perform a few years back in Olympic Park for the annual college footballl Kickoff. Not my generation’s relished genre (Earth, Wind and Fire etc. and the Motown Sound), but the place wasn’t crawling with thugs – mostly white college kids and alumnae and fans in town for the game.

Your average white guy would at least initially be scared in the middle of large group of black people at a rap concert. The same goes for your average black guy at a country music concert. We cover up our insecurity by calling it hatred instead of (irrational) FEAR. Grow a pair, Atlantans. We’re all people.

[...] Ludacris will be performing for free following a Braves game later this summer. ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION reports the Grammy Award winner is getting his grove on after the Braves/Phillies Civil Rights Game [...]

Why is everyone making a big deal about Ludacris performing after ther game. I think its a great idea. To all those saying it will be nothing but thugs YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF YOUR TRAILER PARK MORE OFTEN!!!!!! I am white and have been to a few rap concerts and guess what……ALL HAD A GOOD MIX OF RACE. One last thing….honestly these so called “thugs” are more educated I would guess than the ones making the negative comments about”How the TED will be nothing but thugs” or “there will be fights.” Again you folks need to be more open minded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no! – You’re so ignorant and an obvious racist. Ludacris is a good guy and basically a model citizen but you’re obviously just stereotyping and don’t know anything about him

“Oh no! is an idiot” — yep, I looked up some lyrics on Google. Anything wrong with that? It’s pretty bad when the worst thing you can say about an artist is to print his own words.

“He said a bad word – OMG! What will become of the world.” WILL become of the world?! Dude, it has already become a cesspool, mainly because of attitudes like these. It’s not just that he said “a bad word.” It’s his (and your) whole selfish, petty, me-first, fu#@k-everyone-else stance that has reduced us all to a nation of haters and cowards.

Is there a bumper on your ass? NO N@#GGA!

I’m doin’ a hundred on the highway

Really? This is a man whom someone in the blog above called a “good guy?”

I have season tickets but I and my four-year-old will not be staying for this “concert.”

Go ahead and call me a “racist” or a “redneck” because I don’t teach my little boy that publicly crowing about driving drunk, doing 100 on the highway and calling everyone driving ahead of me on the road a motherfu#@er. I’d rather be a “racist” in your eyes than to give in to the PC police and pretend that this sick social disease is all right.

P Rose – I’m going to take a wild guess and assume you’re a Bill O’Reilly fan and agree w/ him proposing to boycott Ludacris – saying that “Ludacris’ lyrics glamorize a “life of guns, violence, drugs and disrespect of women.” Apparently Ludacris and him later made amends at a charity event. You should Google how much he’s given back to the community…….actions speak louder than words, and THEY ARE just words – Lighten up!

Welcome to Atlanta where the playas play! He’s part of what has made Atlanta the epicentre of the rap community and was recently elected into the GA Music Hale of Fame (rightfully so).

Wooowww yall need to calm down!! His songs are not supposed to be “inspirational” and I am sure his point is not to tell you to do the things he is saying. Most “rap” songs are just meant to be funny, with a good beat. I know this white girl loves dancing in my car to those beats! He has shown with his actions that he is not the “shoot em up treat women with direspect thug” that some of you are claiming. It is just MUSIC. Listen to it, enjoy the beat. If you don’t like the words then turn it off. If you want to be inspired, go to J93.3 and don’t go to the game that day. It’s as easy as that. I went to a Luda concert when he opened for the Black Eyed Peas last year and he was AWESOME!

I like Luda, but I hope he keeps his performance PG rated or there will be some MAD people. lol This strikes me as something odd. I wonder if this is a desperate attempt by the Braves to get more blacks to come out to a baseball game. Being black, I see first hand how many blacks just shun the game of baseball. I really doubt that he will bring a violent crowd.
