Lauryn Hill emerges…will play Atlanta in January
The ever-elusive Lauryn Hill is embarking on a small tour that brings her to Atlanta in January.
The former Fugees frontwoman will perform at Center Stage at 9 p.m. Jan. 14. Tickets, on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 23, will set you back $76.50 (with Ticketmaster fees).
Hill played a handful of international festivals this year, and on this tour, will perform with a full band. She’s expected to revisit her hits from her groundbreaking “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” release as well as other well-known tunes.
The 17-date tour launches Dec. 27 in New York and wraps Feb. 4 in Montclair, N.J.

I was sooo happy to see this. Lauryn Hill is a great performer. But i can’t do $77/ticket in this economy. DAMN DAMN DAMN!!

Lauren is a nice performer but is too unpredictable! Besides this she hasn’t released anything in a couple of years so the promoters had better adjust those prices if they expect to get a good turnout for someone who has been as unpredictable as she has been over the years!!
The only artist I would think about spending $70 plus for in todays music scene is Prince.

You can go to Center Stage box office to avoid Ticketmaster fees. Open at least tomorrow before the holidays, I know. They’ll be about $10 cheaper there.

Just saw her last night in New Haven, CT near Yale University’s campus and she did an amazing show! The best live show I’ve ever attended. Never mind that she was supposed to get up at 9:00 and didn’t hit the stage until 11:30pm. Never mind that she only did 12 songs. Her performance with the live band was awe-inspiring! Once in a lifetime experience! Go!

Lauryn Hill?? Really?? Great album back in the 90s!! Then I saw her on some award show and she damn near had the audience slitting their wrists!! Now, don’t get me wrong, the sista has been through some things, glad to see her back, BUT….$77.50?? PER TICKET?? Baby, that’s effin’ crazy. It’s about as bad as seeing Maze (who ain’t had a hit since 1983??) and Teena (who we love) for $128 on New Year’s Day. C’mon, Atlanta…lighten up on the ticket prices. Taking my fam to see Chris Tucker and Ticketmeiser was charging a total of $30+ over the face value for the fees. Made a trip to the Box Office and got them at the price they were worth. I will be doing that from now on. But, Lauryn Hill?? She’ll cancel as she mostly does, ho hum…..

I never heard that Lauryn was a racist, so I googled and read the above article, which people should do before they judge or make a statement about someone they don’t know. I will not be going to the concert tickets are a lil steep for me.

77 is really to much for Lauren she hasn’t put anything out in a looooooooong time i think 35 is reasonable time is hard & she good but not worth that price ATL is a alll about taking advantage of peopole we need to come together and stop bening so MONEY HUNGRY give the low class & middle class a chance to see someone they like at a reasonable price.

I’ve always wanted to see her in concert. I think she’s a great artist! I just can’t do $77 so quickly after the holidays. Oh well, maybe next time.
