Zac Brown Band coming to Philips Arena for New Year’s Eve concert

Zac-Brown-solo-shotWidespread Panic for years has been the New Year’s Eve concert of choice at Philips Arena.

But step back, jam band fans: another Georgia band is taking that spot this year – The Zac Brown Band.

Road warriors in their own right, the North Georgia crew has become a phenomenon the past two years, winning Best New Artist at the Grammys and nabbing five top two hits on the country charts.

How much are you willing to pay for a New Year's concert with the Zac Brown Band?

This is terrible! This article to state that he is a road warrior in his own right is crap. THERE IS NO ONE WHO TOURS LIKE WIDESPREAD PANIC!! Many bands including(Zac Browneye) Im sure have modeled or tried to copy what WIDESPREAD PANIC HAS BEEN DOING FOR 24 YEARS!! It is just wrong that WIDESPREAD PANIC is not still playing there on New Years which they have sold out at least 20 times!!! Screw Phillips Arena and there staff for bringing mediocrity for the new year. I imagine Dave Mathews is probably opening to make it a total *&$% storm. I have traveled over 500 miles one way to see these shows. I have lived in both the north and the south and seen WIDESPREAD PANIC about 60 times since ‘92 and I cant believe they dont get a little more love sometimes from their home state. The Allman Brothers and WIDESPREAD PANIC put you on the musical map! You should never bite the hand that feeds you. Anyway, looks like I will be making plans to go to Denver where the REAL MUSIC AND ALL MY FRIENDS WILL BE to ring in the new year. Im sure this will only be a one-time gig as they wont sell many tickets, especially at that price! LONG LIVE WIDESPREAD PANIC!!!!

clbag you have no idea what you are talking about. Obviously you dont know anything about Panic, let alone how to spell their name. Yeah, its sad that Houser passed away, but they are still the most cohesive 6 guys playing together in ANY BAND. I just saw 2 shows this weekend in Milwaukee and you cant tell me otherwise. Spreadheads are some of the nicest people on the planet also. I cant believe you dont like Jimmy Herring! Oh wait, that’s right you know nothing about the band, Im sure you havent even heard of him. LONG LIVE WIDESPREAD PANIC!!

This is probably resulting from this past New Years when JB threw an elbow at the guy who came on stage and tried to hug him. The phantom hugger left his shoe behind and JB picked it up and threw it back stage hitting Todd in the face in the attempt, so needless to say the guy was pretty pissed and he was the owners nephew, so they say. Anyway this guy doesn’t even know what he is talking about he starts out with “slow down JAM BAND fans” FU Fag…..its a rockin-roll band you A-hole and a pretty damn good one….

t gypsy is a bit obsessed…Panic is/was great and ZBB is smokin’ but both owe a debt to the Dead. And nobody tops the Allmans! Now if you wanna go back in the day for New Years parties, lets talk about the Atlanta Rhythm Section having a sold out Champagne Jam at the Fox on New Year’s Eve, believe it was 1978…or ‘79
