Lady Antebellum’s sophomore album, “Need You Now,” has been certified triple platinum, with sales of more than 3 million.

The band with Augusta roots also was crowned with a distinction from Billboard: Its songs have spent more weeks at No. 1 in the past 12 months than any other country artist – a figure no doubt owed to the lengthy chart run and quadruple platinum success of the title track.

Lady A is up for five trophies at the Nov.10 CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year.

The band is also in the midst of its first headlining tour, which plays the Fox Theatre Nov. 12.

Only Charles is from Augusta and the band was formed in Nashville, but I guess that means they have Augusta roots.

Hannah both Charles and Dave are from the Augusta area. Dave’s family still lives there. They both graduated from Lakeside High School-Evans in 2000. Hillary is from Nashville.

For Hannah. You need to get your info correct before printing it. Both of the guys are from Georgia and the girl’s mother lives in Atlanta. The mother used to be a backup singer for Riba McIntre before she
went solo and did very well. The reason they were formed in Nashville is because the girl was living
there at the time. Anyway, what does it matter where they were formed? As “NativeAtlantan” said both of the guys graduated from Georgia and I have heard them say that on some of their concerts.

It is good to see someone successful who is not ashamed of graduating from UGA. Of course you don’t need any college education to sing country music, so it does no harm.

Yes, Charles Kelly is the brother of Katherine Heigl’s hubby, Josh Kelly who is also a musician. And Dave Haywood & Charles & Josh are all from Augusta. And Hilary is the daughter of Linda Davis, who is an accomplished country singer. Hilary is beautiful just like her Mom. And they are all very talented. Love their music!!!!!!

for david c. If you don’t like it, then why are you on this blog? Go back to playing with your rabbits and
leave this great band alone.

Stupid name for a band. How about “over-produced country-pop band just like Sugarland”? Sounds good to me!

For Geddy Lee. How bad are your hearings?
