Are you ready for a tequila sunrise in Piedmont Park?
Live Nation and the Piedmont Park Conservancy confirmed today that the Eagles will be coming to Piedmont Park on Oct. 15. Rumors had been swirling that the perennially popular country-rock pioneers would be playing the park this fall, but nothing was official. Now it is.
This is the Conservancy’s third concert, with the Dave Matthews Band headlining in 2007 and Paul McCartney doing the honors last year. The concert is a benefit to “raise funds to maintain historic Piedmont Park and the new 53-acre expansion, while promoting environmental sustainability,” according to the organization’s website.
The Piedmont Park Conservancy has a special offer. If you sign up for their eNews, you get a special code that allows you to purchase pre-sale tickets. The pre-sale tickets go on sale Saturday, July 31st at 10am through Ticketmaster.
Will you be lining up for tickets? And how about the prices: $55 ($250 for the VIP package). Is it worth it? Is it a good deal? Tickets go on sale to the general public on at 10 a.m. Aug. 7.

Saw the Eagles at Verizon Wireless – fantastic show. Saw Sir Paul at Piedmont Park and although the music was great, I didn’t find it to be great venue. I’ll sit this one out.

guys…I had never seen the Eagles till my wife dragged me to their show in Jacksonville last fall. I was damn shocked. One of the greatest, most energetic shows I have ever seen. Definitely NOT your geriatric dollars tour. Joe Walsh was hysterical and did some James Gang stuff as well….and just for the record, I am more of a Pink Floyd/Stained kinda person….OUTSTANDING show….

I’m pumped the Eagles are landing, again! I’m so old I can’t believe people are putting down one of the greatest bands ever. One thing I have discovered in life is some of us get older and others never make it! My bald head and I will be there!

I saw the Eagles 2 years ago at Verizon amp. and they were just as good if not better than they were in the 70’s. They will sing all the Eagles hits along with Don henley hits, Glen frey hits and the crowd goes crazy when joe walsh cranks up rocky mountain way, Yes Big Joe will sing all of his hits too. Don’t miss it, It will be Great!

I guess I’ll crawl into this. First of all, to the Eagles haters: Please just go away. This blog wasn’t meant for you anyway. The Eagles are one of the all-time, most successful rock bands in music history. So sorry that the Haters were either too young or not even around yet when they were rocking the charts every month & every year. It’s truly your loss, Haters. They’re still relevant in today’s world, although they’re on the downside…yes. All bands eventually make it to that point. Basically, it’s all about the songs. They’re awesome. I hope I can afford to go.

They play too many of their solo songs, and Rocky Mountain Way is not an Eagles’s song. I’ll stick to videos with Don Felder, Randy Meissner, and Bernie Leadon.

So all of you guys are going to the ” we have to go out and tour because don felder took all of our money when he sued us concert”?
enjoy…felder got the best years of that band and was responsible for all the good guitar work from “on the border to hotel california”. with the exception of walsh’s part hotel it was all him. now watch some loser studio musician do his parts? NOT!!!!

I saw the Eagles in 94 at the Omni. The concert rocked (I was right up front). The only thing I missed, was hearing “Take it to the limit”. Still my favorite song. If you don’t like the Eagles, don’t go to the concert.

They are truly American Icons!! Very talented, and the awards to prove it!! Seen them in Nashville in 08, they were awesome!!! Still #1 and rocking it out!! They are very respected by all musicians and they have made the record books for a reason!! They’re like FINE WINE, JUST BETTER WITH TIME.

I think the Eagles is a great choice. They’ve been playing for 20 years, and are still playing, so they should draw in a crowd of various ages. I’m glad to see the price go down to something a bit more affordable. Now, last year I heard you couldn’t bring in any food or drinks – not even water. If they do that this year, I’ll be disappointed. Way too many people to have to get through just to go get bottled water! And I agree, it should have been on a Saturday night. Friday night is bad for anyone not working in the city.

While I have purchased tickets for this event and look forward to seeing the Eagles, I believe the folks at the Conservatory should have done a better job forcing the ticketmaster monopoly to set lower fees. An event to raise money for such a great cause should not be burdened with fees that end up raising the total cost by 30%. As I said, I bought the tickets, as this is a good cause and will be a great concert, but alternate ticketing methods should be considered for future concerts.

I saw Paul McCartney last year. I bought the $80 ticket as opposed to the $400 one. It turned out that I was way further in front than the VIPs. I bet they were all pretty pissed.

For all of you that have negative comments about the Eagles you apparently have not seen t hem in a while. they are all incredible musicians and singers regardless of their age. Get a clue and listen to some of their new music.

It is very sad to read this blog on the web while just looking for information about the concert and venue. If you don’t like the band, you don’t need to spend your time and money, nor do you need to publish a negative opinion for people who do enjoy them or who have never been to this venue or seen this band live. The comments denigrating people for their age, tastes and lifestyles are inappropriate and sad. I guess most of the folks writing on this are young and so most of them won’t attend. Most of those attending an Eagles concert won’t go on this site and will be spared the ugliness of such diatribes. I am sad I found this as it was a sad commentary on Atlanta.

I’d really like more details on the VIP package. What exactly does it include, and what time does it open? If it opens early enough, I think the value might be there. Does anyone know what time VIP access opens?

here’s betting they sell out…if you don’t like the Eagles, don’t come…if you have a tiny little bladder then either don’t come or rent a porta-john of your own…if you don’t want to walk a few blocks because traffic and parking are a problem, then don’t come…if you’re a jerk, an arsehole, a punk rocker or rap fan, don’t come…but you’ll be sorry…
