What is Piedmont Park Conservancy’s latest big fundraising concert draw?

On October 15, the Piedmont Park Conservancy is holding a huge concert to raise money, but how can they top Paul McCartney last year?

The non-profit group is certainly going to try. The rumored big name? We can’t say, but fans of this Baby Boomer-friendly band should have a peaceful, easy feeling about the selection.

The band name will be announced at a press conference next week.

http://www.eaglesband.com/tour.php Looks like they will be in KY on the 16th, but they have only one stretch of back-to-back nights occurring in the same city.

The Eagles are playing in Louisville, KY on October 16th, and I don’t see them holding the concert on that Friday.

Someone should tell Don and Glen that is sad to be a tribute band to yourself.

Eagles would be an interesting choice. They are one of the acts that has had to cancel multiple shows due to poor ticket sales this year.
Tickets would have to be pretty inexpensive to come anywhere close to the 40,000 last year.

They will be sorry when they sell half as many tickets. There are plenty of people that would attract bigger crowds….Garth….Elton and Billy….etc..

K, the OTP crowd ain’t being appealed to, not at Piedmont Mug’n'glock Park. It’s a cesspool of crime EVERY night, whether the Conservancy wants to have a lawn party or not. The Eagles are crazy for putting all these people’s lives in danger.

Sorry, but you can’t top Paul McCartney unless you can bring George Harrison and John Lennon back to life and reunite The Beatles. That, or bringing Elvis back to life. The Eagles are a church-band compared to Macca.

Once again, the convservancy wants to attract a crowd to the park for a park fundraiser and exceed their own stated limits of number of attendees for an organized event.

What a bunch of two-faced hypocrites trying to save their park when they are the worst ones to trash it. Anyone stay for the after effects of the McCartney concert? Didn’t think so!!

Bring back the Black Crowes and the Post Festival of 1992. 60,000 plus
there and still the biggest crowd for any concert at Piedmont Park. Bigger than even the Allman Brothers Hey day!

Alot of the people at the DMB show, including me were actually there primarily to see the Allman Brothers Band. I could”t have cared less about seeing Mcartney last year, but did catch the 92 Pot festival with the Black Crowes. I don’t think they are a big enough draw now for Piedmont Park.

The past couple of Eagles shows were really great…..but nothing could be better than Sir Paul. Too bad Petty is already booked for Philips, he’d have been a great choice.
