Guitar Legend Eric Clapton Sells Out Gwinnett Arena

British guitar legend Eric Clapton rocked the sold out Arena at Gwinnett Center Tuesday night, March 9, 2010, with Roger Daltrey, vocalist for The Who, opening the show.

And while we weren’t there to cover it, Robb Cohen was handy with his camera. Click here for a full photo gallery from the concert. If you made the show, tell us about what you saw. How did it compare to other Eric Clapton concerts?

Ted, you were right on the money; Clapton should indeed have been opening for Roger Daltrey, rather than the other way ’round. Although Clapton’s playing was brilliant (as it always is), he seemed totally disinterested and made no effort whatsoever to establish any rapport with the audience. Daltrey and his band, on the other hand, put on an enthusiastic, spirited performance and seemed to genuinely be having a great time. They reached out to the audience and made us feel a part of the show. I’ve seen The Who perform twelve times since 1971 and this was my first Eric Clapton concert; I won’t waste my money on a Clapton show again.

I seem to agree with the masses. Daltry was very good, Eric was also very good. I enjoyed all the close ups of his handy work. I also agree, not much mixing with the crowd and NO LAYLA!! Whats up with that Eric?
