She brought her Monster Ball Tour to the Fox Theatre Tuesday night for the second of two sold out shows. Jason Derulo and Semi Precious Weapons were the opening acts.

And while we weren’t there to cover it, Robb Cohen was handy with his camera. Click here to see a full gallery of the show containing 18 photos. And if you attended the show, tell us about what you saw. How did it compare to other shows? Is Lady Gaga a Madonna clone?

SATURDAY
Drivin’ N’ Cryin’

For many years, you could count on Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ to play the day after Thanksgiving, but in 2007 the band rocked the Roxy on New Year’s Eve. Last year, the venerable yet still raucous Kevn Kinney-led institution played a holiday gig on the day after Christmas, so does that make this the second annual event, or will the holiday change again next year? Whatever happens, it’s good to know they’re always here for one of them and this time around, for the first time in 12 years, the band has newly released material to play. “Great American Bubble Factory,” released in September,  is the first album of new Drivin’ N Cryin’ material since 1997.
8 p.m. Dec. 26. $20-$25. The Tabernacle, 152 Luckie St. N.W., Atlanta. 404- 659-9022.

SATURDAY
The Lovell Sisters

Three siblings from Calhoun stay true to their Appalachian roots. The sisters were once signed to Lyric Street Records (home of …

Lockett Pundt of Lotus Plaza

Lockett Pundt of Lotus Plaza

FRIDAY
Lotus Plaza

Like prolific bandmate Bradford Cox, Deerhunter guitarist Lockett Pundt has musical ambitions that can’t be contained by his band. Pundt’s Lotus Plaza released its debut album, “The Floodlight Collective,” back in March. Dusted Magazine called it “one of the most beautiful records of this year.” It’s a swamp of hallucinatory guitar and melody, with Pundt’s voice buried deep in the swirling haze. It’s the perfect musical companion for this rainy year. With Lyonnais and Tickley Feather.
10 p.m. Dec 18. $8; $5 in advance. 529, 529 Flat Shoals Ave., Atlanta. 404-228-6769.

FRIDAY
Yacht Rock Holiday Special

It’s the holidays, ’70s-style. Specifically, beloved Atlanta cover band Yacht Rock Revue does that mellow soft-rock that dominated AM radio and had a big presence in the Top 40 during that decade. It might be easy to sneer at some of those songs, but it’s hard to forget them. Anyone who was around during that …

New music today by Alicia Keys, Robin Thicke, Phil Vassar

New CDs released Dec. 15 include:

aliciaAlicia Keys, “The Element of Freedom”

Known as much for her stunning looks as her stellar piano playing, this R&B singer and multi-Grammy winner returns with her 4th studio CD.

George Lopez, “Tall, Dark and Chicano”

The comic, who has a new late-night talk show on TBS, recorded this HBO special in August in San Antonio.

Kylie Minogue, “Kylie: Live in New York”

Known for stand-out performances and live concert vocals, the pop singer recorded these tracks at the Hammerstein Ballroom earlier this year.

vassarcdRobin Thicke, “Sex Therapy”

Not surprisingly, the singer takes soulful songs straight to the bedroom. In some cases it gets extra racy, so consider yourself warned.

Phil Vassar, “Traveling Circus”

Country music’s piano man gets more personal with tracks on this CD. Some critics say make sure to check out the ballads.

Hip-hop music star Nelly spent the last couple of days in Atlanta, not for anything related to music but to promote a new fragrance from his fashion line Apple Bottoms and put in some time for one of his two philanthropic causes. Nelly spent Friday visiting the bone marrow transplant unit at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. About 25 kids got play games with him and received early Christmas presents from Macy’s.

On Saturday, a special bone marrow transplant recipient named Jerry Jones got to shadow Nelly as his made the rounds at Macy’s at Lenox Square courtesy of Macy’s who granted Jerry a special wish. We …
