Fantasia and Jennifer Holliday Join Hudson At The Fox

There are two cities with two-night stands on the whole Jennifer Hudson/Robin Thicke tour: Hudson’s hometown, Chicago, and Atlanta.

And perhaps what happened last night was a ‘thank you’ of sorts for the support. Fellow “American Idol” contestant – and the eventual Season 3 winner — Fantasia joined Hudson last night at the sold-out Fox Theatre on their single “I’m His Only Woman” (from Hudson’s self-titled, Grammy-winning debut).

And for the encore — “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” — original “Dreamgirls” star Jennifer Holliday made another surprise appearance with Hudson (who won an Oscar for her role in the film adaptation of the musical “Dreamgirls”); marking the first time they’ve done the song together, reportedly, since a BET Awards show two years ago (pictured above).

If you were there last night — or for the first Atlanta show on Tuesday — what grade would you give Hudson’s first national tour? Have a favorite version of “And I Am…”, or do you think they’re equally dynamic? What about any video from Thursday’s surprise performances that you’d like to share?

(Actually – now there’s YouTube clips BELOW. Thank you “boo” and “Shallow Nation”!)

I was there last night and the show was EXCELLENT! I feel bad for the Tuesday fans because they didn’t get a chance to see Fantasia and Jennifer Holliday. I don’t even like the duet with Fantasia on Jennifer’s CD, but I loved their duet last night. Jennifer Holliday took the cake though. That performance was a perfect ending to a wonderful night. I think I screamed, jumped and clapped my hands throughout the entire song – I know I’m hoarse this morning.

I would give Jennifer’s performance an A – she has a beautiful voice, a wonderful spirit and I had a great time.

Thursday’s night show was awesome…Robin was so smooth…he can really sing and has great stage presence; he was a great lead-in to JHUD. WOW…the two surprise singers, Fantasia and Jennifer Holliday. JHUD was even gracious enough to allow their greatest to shine.!!!!! If you missed Thursday’s show, you better ask someone. LOL

The show was an “A” plus. I am so glad that I did not attend Tuesday’s show. Robin Thicke, so very talented and handsome (I see why Paula Patton is always smiling). He did an AWESOME job. JENNIFER, this child is truly blessed. Talented, beautiful, wonderful spirit. She was great. To come from a situation not even 6 months ago and deliver a performance the way she did, you can tell GOD is all over her. When I say this young lady gave me “Chills” with that voice!! This show was very well worth every penny I spent.

I was at the show last night and Jenifer Hudson is the real deal. She has a strong stage presence and she works the audience like a seasoned professional. What I really liked was the fact that it was Jennifer, a couple backup singers and the band. Not a bunch of dancers costume changes and a lot of fluff like you’d see at other concerts where the act needs all that stuff cause they really don’t sing all that well. Jennifer is a pure a singer as I’ve seen in a long time. I heard a lot of people leave the show saying ‘Beyonce who’?

I was in the Fox last night. I have been to many concerts at the Fox and other places. That was one of the greatest shows I have attended!!!
Everybody from RT to JH, JH, and FB……….. wow!! What a show from beginning to end. Anytime Jennifer or Robin are in a 100 mile radius, I will be in the house!! Wonderful sweet spirits with all of the performers.

I was in the house last night and this was an excellent show. Jennifer Hudson tore it up. She is a performer. I absolutely love Fantasia. I was so glad that they did that duet. Jennifer Holliday was the truth. Her and Jennifer Hudson together is too much. They gave me goose bumps. Both of them. It was a great show. Robin Thicke was good too.

I was there on Tuesday. They BOTH put it down. Somebody put it best earlier with Jennifer. To see her on that stage only months after the personal tragedy she went through is just amazing. WELL DONE!

I so enjoyed myself last night!!! Both Robin and Jennifer were wonderful…I have attended numerous concerts and I must say, the true beauty of their voices was a sight to behold! It was simple yet mesmering, amazing in its effortlessness. It was also such a great surprise and blessing to not only have Fantasia join Jennifer, but to have the phenomenal Jennifer Holiday sing the duet with Jennifer! Thanks so much Robin and Jennifer for giving all of us a true night to remember…

Not only that, I thought that Robin Thick was very gracious when he was saying get ready for Jennifer Hudson she has a great show planned for Atlanta. He never lied. I think they both did a great job and I would definately go see Jennifer Hudson anytime she comes to Atlanta.

I was able to get tickets to Thursday’s performance at the last minute. I am so glad I didn’t miss it. It was definitely a good show. Robin, Jennifer, Fantasia, and Jennifer all did their thing. Did anybody else almost miss the last song?…..”Thank you” to the usher who told me there was one more song. Without her, I would have missed it ’cause I thought it was over.

I was in the building last night, and I must say this the concert of the year!! Robin Thicke was incredible, and Jennifer Hudson sang her behind off! When Fantasia came out, I thought that was something, but when Jennifer Holiday came out…I was shocked! I had to call my mom so she could here them sing!! Absolutely excellent!!

I posted this on another blog adn had to share it again!!! Can I just say, where is the offering plate?? The concert was EXCELLENT!!! Our section was ready to give an offering. LOL First, DJ Nab entertained us for about 20 minutes with a variety of music to warm us up. Then, RT came on and turned it up a notch! I thoroughly enjoyed his performance. As I stated earlier, I didn’t expect him to belt out notes for days but he has some great songs and you can tell that he has a passion for what he is doing. He did perform other songs from artists and they were a great compliment to his show. Finally, JHud came out and blew the roof off the Fox. Her voice is so powerful and clear that it is crazy!!! I do agree that her CDs do her no justice. The young lady was incredible. Then, Fantasia joined her on their duet of “I’m His Only Woman” (not Pocketbook) and the crowd went wild!!! Fantasia wore a very cute white short outfit and looked amazing. Then to close the show, Jennfier Holiday joined her on “And I Am Telling You”. The two did a little battle on the encore and it was wonderful!!!!!!!!!! My only negative comment was that it was hard to hear the performers when they were talking. The acoustics were great when they were singing but garbeled when they were talking. Overall, an amazing show.
