I am so proud of my big brother Chad and his awesome wife Shalice! It would be tough to find two people that can appreciate being parents and the joys it brings more than Chad and Shalice. When we started this journey, of my wife being their surrogate, we knew it could be another disappointment for them to endure or something so wonderful that they couldn't even imagine. They were brave enough to take the chance and trust the Lord to provide them with two little miracles that I had the privledge of being in the delivery room with them. I remember like it was yesterday their eyes welling up with tears as Mattie and Gracie were being delivered and thinking to myself, wow! twins, get ready for a wild and fun ride! When our family visited them in May on our way to Disneyworld, I could see how much they love and appreciate every moment with them, even the times when they wanted to pull their hair out, they loved those times too!! I didn't mean for this to get so emotional but the Pickering and the Brook's family are so proud of Chad, Shalice, Mattie & Gracie and nobody deserves the good fortune of such a great family!!! Hope you have a great 2010 and your family is always in our thoughts!!

Lordy, Lordy, Lord!! We haven't heard about Shalice for so long we were afraid she was off in either a rough or very enticing foreign country and couldn't/wouldn't get back - - and were afraid to ask for fear of what we would hear. This has been an absolutely thrilling and pleasing revelation to us. Much Love and best wishes to Shalice and her Family including Chad, the twins, Mom, Dad, Aunts, Uncles and her slew of nieces and nephews, Unc Mike & Aunt Jean

Your Mother just emailed me this article and I really enjoyed seeing the picture of your family and reading about your wonderful (life-changing) experiences. We have missed seeing you over the years, but please know that we pray for you both, and the twins, everyday. God Bless you all. u/c
