Sept. 8-9
A medical-surgical nursing review for practice enhancement and a certification course will be offered at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. The course is for nurses preparing to take certification exams as well as those who want to improve their knowledge. The event will be in classroom 7 on the sixth floor of the 77 building. The cost is $225 and includes course materials, light breakfast, light lunch and Georgia Nurses Association contact hours. Sept. 11
Leading Edge Conference: Advances in Cardiovascular Care will be offered in the Carroll Conference Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. Robotic surgeon Dr. Sudhir Srivastava and other St. Joseph’s Hospital physicians will explore the most recent advances in cardiology and diagnostic treatments. Topics will include hypothermia post cardiac arrest and hypoglycemic management in cardiovascular patients. The cost is $75 ($45 for students) and includes continental breakfast and lunch. Oct. 7-9
The Georgia Nurses Association will host its biennial convention and membership assembly at the Classic Center in Athens. The theme will be “GNA: Connecting Great People and Great Ideas.” The featured speakers will include Lynda Enos, RN, BSN, MS, COHN-S, CPE; Gloria Wright, Ph.D.; and American Nurses Association CEO Marla J. Innovative Trends in Respiratory Care seminar will be offered in the Carroll Conference Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. The seminar will update respiratory care practitioners, physicians, students and other health care professionals on the changing trends in the field. This course is pending approval by the American Association for Respiratory Care for 7.0 CRCE-Category One credits. Group and student discounts are available. The registration deadline is Oct. 2. The Atlanta Chapter of the Case Management Society of America will host its annual educational conference at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park. Ten continuing education credits will be applied for. The cost is $85 for members ($95 after Sept. 9) and $95 for nonmembers ($105 after Sept. 9). Group rates ($80 per person, $90 after Sept. 9) are available for five or more attendees who register and pay in one mailing with one check; each attendee must complete a separate registration form.
